In the coming months, new branding and signage will appear at the airport highlighting the new name. Currently, the airport is undergoing construction of Phase 1 of the 2020 Vision Plan, which includes extensive upgrades to the ticketing lobby and baggage screening area, which will house a new, state-of-the-art in-line baggage handling system that keeps all screening equipment away from passenger areas. The $67 million, initial improvements will be completed in February 2013.

You're not kidding. I posted about this quite a while back......I was in Atlanta for a while in 04 for the debate over changing the name of the airport there after Maynard Jackson died. The ' - " they ended up with cost millions. Really made me mad because I had to climb over piles homeless people in the mornings to get into a building by Woodruff park and the city was spending money on "Blue ribbon" teams to study the name change.

Renaming stuff is a terrible waste of Cash IMO......If you want to honor people wait until something new is built.

:hmm: That got more ranty than I thought it would. :lol:
