This is really bad.

Tsunamis set to hit all across the Pacific Rim. Hawaii will probably be hit. Hope everyone can get to high ground in time.

I was shocked to watch it on TV this morning. Massive Tsunami may covered some of Northern Japan islands. 8.9 richter scale is largest earthquake in Japan's history since 1800. Wow!

According to BBC, there's more than 88,000 people missing.

The death toll is going to be very high.

Plus, the dam just broke in North Japan, causing even more damage. Japan earthquake live blog: Japan dam breaks, scores of homes lost – This Just In - CNN.com Blogs

This is just so heart breaking. Thankfully Japan isn't in dire economic straights the way Jakarta and Haiti are. But still the recovery will be massive and likely will take years to get Japan back to where they were.

I am surprised the Japanese Prime Minister has not issued a statement yet as President Obama has already said the United States will stand by Japan in it's recovery process.

From what I understand the death toll is expected to be in the thousands before all is said and done. =(

Tsunami speed comparable to clip of jumbo jet - CTV News

It is so powerful! No wonder the people in those affected area had little time to get themselves in safe zone.

Those natural disasters caused by Mother Nature are not the problem as they have been natural occurrences for centuries. We are the ones who created this problem.

Over-population of certain areas along the fault lines is the sole problem or reason for a high causality rate. Over-populated areas along the fault lines, such as Los Angeles, San Francisco, Mexico City, Tokyo, Madrid, and many others, are ripe for made-made disasters caused by those natural occurrences.

Regardless of all what I stated above in my post, I pray for the people whose lives are affected by tsunami wave.

This earthquake was 3,000 times stronger than the 1989 San Francisco quake.

There is a risk to one of Japan's nuclear reactors overheating. They're evacuating the area. They will release radioactive vapor to relieve the pressure.

No severe hit in San Francisco yet. They hit Santa Cruz, and Crescent City which is about an hour north/south of San Francisco. I am still keeping an eye on it until tomorrow.
