Woman claims TSA singled her out for her breasts.

Quote:
A woman has complained that the TSA's new security measures saw her picked out for further screening because of her breasts.

Eliana Sutherland had been flying from Orlando International Airport and said she felt objectified by security workers.

Her claims come after thousands of Americans reacted furiously to the imposition of new airport security measures, including full body scans and hands-on patdowns.

And experiences like those described by Sutherland could see increased support for boycott of the TSA's controversial checks.

Sutherland told her local news station that two male TSA workers had been staring at her chest and singled her out for additional screening.

'It was pretty obvious. One of the guys that was staring me up and down was the one who pulled me over,' she said. 'Not a comfortable feeling.'

Privacy-invasion claims like Sutherland's have become increasingly common since the TSA introduced the full body scan.

Colleen Moskaly went through a full body scan recently while her security agents performed a pat-down on her infant son.

She said, "I'm not good with people touching me and touching my son. The only person that sees the screen is the security guy."

The TSA has stressed that people are chosen for additional screening at random and strictly for security reasons.

Many travellers had threatened to boycott the security measures as part of a National Opt Out Day organised by a number of protest websites.

Protests - coupled with widespread snow and storms - could have led to major disruption for Thanksgiving passengers.

But reports from airports across the U.S. suggested passengers had chosen not to take part in the planned protests.

The apparent calm at followed a plea from the head of the Transport Security Administration's (TSA) plea to passengers not to boycott airport body scans.

John Pistole has said he understood public concerns about privacy in the wake of the TSA's tough new airline boarding security checks.

But he said that only a small portion of the 34 million people who have flown since the new procedures have taken effect have had the body patdowns.

He has pledged to review security procedures but says the TSA must balance people's demands for privacy with the need to protect passengers from terror threats.

U.S. Secreary of State Hillary Clinton waded into the row earlier this week by saying she would avoid a TSA patdown if she could.

The former First Lady said she understood 'how offensive it could be' for airport passengers and called for less intrusive procedures to be introduced.

President Barack Obama has also said he understood the frustrations of passengers, though admitted he does not have to submit to the TSA procedures himself.

According to a new USA Today/Gallup poll, 57 per cent of air travellers are 'bothered or angry' about the TSA pat-downs and dislike the alternative of a full body scan.
Quote:

Fashion website Cargo Collective has hit on an innovative method for Americans to make their feelings known about the TSA security checks - by emblazoning it on their underwear.

Passengers can buy boxer shorts, bras and pants suggesting airport staff brush up on the 4th Amendment before subjecting passengers to pat-downs and body scans.

The site even offers children's polo shirts branded with the words 'READ THE 4TH AMENDMENT PERVERTS' for parents fearful of their child's privacy being breached.

if a woman has big boobs, you gotta wonder if she has something in her bra.

Oh, man, that is sexist.

I suppose a guy with a big gut is hiding something in his flab rolls, too.

People who are thinking that the TSA guidelines aren't anything to be worried about really should put themselves in some of these people's places. The problem with the TSA guidelines is that they are picking people out at RANDOM and subjecting them to these searches. It's WRONG! They did it to a man who had cancer and put him in an embarrasssing situation. They did it to a THREE YEAR OLD and terrified her. They've done it to others. What is WRONG with this picture? A LOT.

Subjecting a THREE YEAR OLD to such an aggressive pat down? Is this what our country has come to? Seriously?

Before everyone gets all twitchy and says "But, we HAVE to protect our country". To that, I say, I AGREE.

But, to what extent do we go? And, do we HONESTLY think we're going to STOP these madmen? If we honestly think we are, we're DREAMING. Why? Because, they're CRAZY! It's like arguing with a mentally ill person. You don't do it, because, you'll always lose. You can't argue with an irrational person. You also WON'T stop Terrorism because, again, you're dealing with someone with an unbalanced mind. Someone so insane that they WILL come up with other ways to achieve the goals they set.

My Dad was saying there are ways around these scanners, and it's very easy to thwart them. The machines pick up metal. If someone wanted to conceal a weapon, they could still do it by having one that is made from things besides metal. Things readily available in any hobby shop, drugstore, grocery store, you name it.

Simply put, the TSA guidelines needs to be tossed out!

Yes, they get frisked as well. TSA agents have reported how disgusting it is to frisk obese people.

"Those that wishes to exchange their freedom for security deserves neither freedom nor security"...... Ben Franklin. (Paraphrased)

Despite of the quote being disputed, doesn't matter. There's pure logic to that quote and I whole heartily agree.

In my opinion, those that wants to trade their freedom for security deserves to have their citizenship stripped and given a one way ticket out of this country to a destination of their choice other than anywhere in the 50 states.

Nobody is taking away my freedom in exchange to have a mommy nanny watching over me 24/7. I can take care of myself and my own.

I think I'd rather to work as gynecologist over TSA security due to less headache.

My favorite quote of all times... seriously. This crap needs to stop.

I hate how people are so submissive these days. "Oh its ok because their just trying to protect us"

Here's something that REALLY disturbs me.... not that I'm saying it will happen at all, but remember the Holocaust? The Jewish did what the Nazi's said because they thought they were going someplace safe. I had a dream that people were being patted down, taken onto planes of their "destination" and they were actually shipped out to a camp and never heard from again.

I know this is a dream but really... it scares me because it could happen. Why? because no one will say no.

I hear what you're saying. I don't think the dream will play itself out like that, but, you're right that bad things can/will happen if we become complacent. However, I also think we need to also take into consideration the rights of our citizens as well. This crap that's happening in the name of "protecting our people" has to STOP! You can't trample over rights like they are. I honestly think the TSA guidelines needs to be tossed out, or at least, revised! If you're going to do it to a few, you have to do it ALL! Singling people out because they look funny just isn't going to cut it!

Otherwise,

Look like I'll have to deal with the security when I'm coming to New York in airplane. Oh joy! Suppose, I'm going to drop my pants down to make much easy for them? I'll make sure I watch porn video before I attend to see TSA.
