Seriously, I take water conservation very seriously.

I view water as gold.

It upsets me to see a few houses with dark green lawns with houses on both sides with yellowing lawns. It is clear that these folks waste water. Or seeing sprinklers when there is rain!

I take showers or baths every other day because I dont feel right about wasting gallons of water. I also limit my washing to only once a week.

Well I can always move to other state or another country.

Why stay in California, it is just a land?

If it wasn't for the holes in the ozone layer, we would still have all the water on Earth.

A couple of ways that my family saves water throughout the day:

- Showering/washing/brushing teeth -- only turn the faucet on when rinsing. My mom takes baths instead, while she's waiting for it to fill, she brushes her teeth and goes to the bathroom.

- When doing dishes we do most by hand & own a dishwasher that uses very little water.

- We only flush the toilet when we have BMs. Put the lid down and you won't smell it, and there is plenty of bacteria in the toilet anyway. Yeah it's gross, but get over it.

- If we must water our lawn, we do it in the morning. That way all it soaks in before the sun comes up. If you do it in the afternoon, lots of water will evaporate, requiring more water to green up your lawn!

- Wash your cars by the bucket, not with a constantly running hose.

- We put our indoor plants outside when it rains. It rains often enough here that we rarely have to water them ourselves.

We cut our water bill in half using these practices.

See thats another form of socialism. Local goverments are starting to put water restrictions and if youre caught you pay a heafty fine. Now west palm beach posted water restrictions even well after the drought in 2002 and guess what??
6 county councilmen lost their jobs in november. Thats how you gotta fight the bull! If your local politicans put water restrictions and if it lasted more the six months make signs and strart protesting just 6 days before the election to remind voters what the trouble your county councilmen did to you and they will be out of the job.Local politicans are starting to work just like how the kremlin does things in russia.

Yes I definately conserve water. There are no restrictions on here right now (It is winter in NZ right now, so there is plenty of rain!) but I always do my part to conserve water, and electricity too, recycle etc. It's all part of the same package for me.

You know:
Reduce. Reuse. Recycle.

raven this is not political debate get it? this topic is about asking members in here if they are conserving the water in their home and discuss about fines nothing else....GEEZ dont ya have to bring up political debate in each topic that is posted in here?

here an example, IF you ever ended up get stuck in desert or have car break down in middle of nowhere with no stores or water near by and you only have gallon of water in car. WOULD you conserve the water each day for necessary of survival until you get help?
