Can scientists make a space elevator?
Can scientists make a space elevator? - CNN.com
Yeah, why not? What are stopping them from doing it? I would love to go up in a space elevator to look at horizontal edge of Earth and up to millions and millions of stars in the dark, cold space. |

it is supposed to bend to some degree however it's not a problem because the speed is nearly constant. both will rotate at same speed, same path so bending is not a problem. the biggest worrisome issue is the stray space junk or small meteoroid that can strike it at anytime.
it is common for a space shuttle to return back to Earth with dozens of damage caused by space junks.

The 95 percent of space objects orbiting Earth are junks. Check my thread that I just created: http://www.alldeaf.com/current-event...ace-junks.html |

education and research? Look at how long it took ISS to finish... and it's not even finished yet. way too slow. way too expensive. typical government program. Space Mining? the most feasible and highly motivated program. Can be done quickly and lucratively. Capitalism at its best! I'm not being pessimistic... just realistic.
