I love the way the Navy has done in order to honor the victims of 9/11.

So, San Antonio-class ships was named after the places where the disaster took place? Except USS Mesa Verde was named after Colorado national park.
I swore I saw one of those ships was stationed at the Norfolk Navy port where my brother-in-law's Los Angeles-class submarine, USS Boise, docked at. I can see its towers but can't make out rest of ship or name because of many patrol/frigate ships hide it.
I hope I can see USS New York when it dock in Norfolk.
I heard a shipbuilder was about retire from 40 years of shipbuilding but decided to put the retirement on hold to help with building honorable USS New York. Many shipbuilders regard it as one kind of experience in lifetime.

definitely worth it. IMO it cost nothing but our sweat and blood to build a symbolic ship that will stand strong forever.

Honoring the 9/11 and recycling at the same time. Neat!

It also tell us 'it just began' to me because that we lost almost everything happen in Sept 11 and it nice to see honor out there.

Recycle is like equal as re-new as re-Sept 11... make sense?

it's the tag game we're playing in motorcycle forum. we have to put the motorcycle in front of the object as a proof and then the winner has to take a pix of another location for others to find it.

From what I found in google search - they molded the WTC steel to this ship on Sept. 9, 2003.

Official Information about this USS New York (LDP-21) - here
