Fake cop gets 10-year sentence

A Carrollton man who tried to use a police badge to get a woman to stop her car on the tollway in May was sentenced Friday to a 10-year prison term for impersonating a public servant, the Dallas County district attorney's office said.

Gregory Miller, 37, said the woman was speeding and driving unsafely, and that's why he tried to stop her, officials said.

The incident occurred about 1:45 a.m. May 15 when Mr. Miller pulled up beside the woman's vehicle on the Dallas North Tollway and flashed a Los Angeles detective badge and told her, "Pull over. I'm the police," a police report said.

Scared, the woman kept driving north even as Mr. Miller flashed his hazard lights and his high beams trying to get the woman to pull over. The woman exited the tollway and drove to an apartment complex, with Mr. Miller following.

"As they turned the corner, there were a couple of Dallas police officers who saw him following her, and they took off after him," said Pat Batchelor, chief of the public integrity unit for the Dallas County district attorney's office.

The officers saw Mr. Miller flashing the badge and arrested him. Police found a fake driver's license in another person's name in Mr. Miller's wallet, a police report said. In his vehicle, police found handcuffs, a leather gag and other items.

A friend of mine mentioned that he knows the Deaf guy who was impersonating as a cop. He tended to pull some people over and gave tickets to them. Somehow, later he got caught and got probation for impersonating as a cop. He was a fucking idiot.
