Woman Delivers Quints In Phoenix - Phoenix News Story - KPHO Phoenix

PHOENIX -- A Tucson couple is celebrating the arrival of their five new children born in a Phoenix hospital.

The Puig family welcomed their quintuplets into the world Wednesday afternoon.

Each of the little babies weighs between 2 and three pounds.

They will have to be fed and have their diapers changed seven or eight times a day and that's going to take a lot of help.

"We have the grandmas here to help," said mom Lorena Puig.

Doctors said the three girls and two boys are all doing fine and breathing on their own.

They will each have to stay in the hospital until they double in size. That is expected to take 10 to 12 weeks.

Lorena Puig said she carried the babies for 29 weeks.

The Puigs appeared at a news conference with Dr. Brianne Kling who delivered the quintuplets, and Dr. Gregory Martin, a neonatologist.

OH WOW!

Hope the taxpayers of AZ wont foot the bill cuz my mom would have a shit fit.

The fact that those babies breathe on their own is already a good sign! This and their weight... is not bad for quints!

Phew... quints... the word alone exausts me :giggle:
