I just read another thread about a mentally disabled guy being locked in a filthy room in north Texas and I wanted to post this thread about another mentally disabled person.
We also recently had a case of another mentally disabled person who was also schizophrenic right here in San Antonio where she was released from the state hospital but she was taken to the bus station and left there without making sure she got on the bus OK and making sure that she made it to her family members in Del Rio. There is an investigation ongoing on this right now. She was found dead about three miles away from the bus station which means the state hospital staff simply dropped the woman off at the bus station and simply left her there, even though they claimed to have made sure she got in the line to get on the bus. But clearly they did not make sure she got ON the bus because she ended up a little more than three miles away, clearly meaning she had wandered off and gotten lost, and somehow ended up dead. Some passerby found her body and called police. And apparently this is not the first of many cases of state hospital patients being left at places like bus stations and abandoned. But the treatment of the mentally disabled people here in Texas is not too good, to be honest, from what I've heard.
Left at bus station, mental patient dies
