yeah the media can be good and bad depending on all kinds of situations. I think there should be some type of stalking regulation for photographers to stay so many feet or whatever from celebrities. I think they should wait to report things going on with military and government stuff until it is over with since our enemies watch our news too and get heads up from those idiot reporters that just want ratings. That is just me.

Yeah, freedom of speech is hard. I didn’t originate this idea and am probably paraphrasing the original quite poorly, but . . .

Freedom of speech is fighting for the right of someone you hate to say things you despise and have spent your entire life fighting against.

Yeah I agree that the ones you don't want to listen to will speak their beliefs and opinions but I am also aware that a lot of censorship goes on when there shouldn't be. I think they should put the shows on you want to see on tv but put them on like after 9pm or something so you as an adult have the right to watch what you want to watch in your own home. I think as well that as far as censorship goes in the U.S. compared to places like England we are in the dark and treated like overgrown children. We should be able as parents and adults to make sure our kids don't watch programs by monitoring what they watch and also use those blocks where you can keep kids form going on channels you don't want them to go on when your not able to be there. Most modern televisions and remotes have the ability to put those blocks in place and I think we should be able to have more responsibilities and more choices. I loved it in England, they had what I wanted to see without blocking or taking away from the program the way the director or writer wanted you to see it as. We need to be able to decide for ourselves not be told what we can or can't have, we are adults and I just think we need to be treated that way by our government and the FCC and everyone else who wants to censor us. And please don't take offense at what I am saying, I am only one person and this is only my opinion, okay? I think they are right that when a show comes on they show the rating and parental warnings and stuff but that if they do, do that they need to let us see the stuff the way it was created instead of telling us it is offensive for this age group and censoring all the stuff out anyway.

Hey Steph, I think you are so right. It is scarey to think that stuff is sensored, and yet propaganda gets a high priority and gets through. People with power use the media very well for their own purpose. What is even scarier is to know that the government is reading your emails and listening to your calls without a warrant. So we are losing two freedoms. Sensorship,,,, Freedom of speech,,, and illegal search or seizure. It is sad.

It is kind of crazy that tv can cut out scenes, but our kids can see just as much violence and sex just by seeing commercials or the news. Most of our kids can figure out how to use the bad sites on a computer, even if we have them blocked. If they want bad enough to see something, they will use someone elses computer or something. We live in an age of limitless information.... And yet,.. we can barely trust anything that we hear or see. But you are right, we as adults should not have our own tv shows sensored.

We have freedom of speech, that means media has rights to say about everything except for offensive stuff that against on persons.

It is against the law to shout "Fire!" in a crowded theatre. To what extent is that held true?

In the case of DDT (#1 in the list), its cancerous properties were touted for quite some time before the FDA banned it. WHO stepped in and said, "Yes, bring it back." DDT would prevent 500 million lives. How many lives were already lost because of the ban?

Propoganda, paparazzi, and television are mediums/arms of the media. When disregard for human life is obvious, many are quick to condemn.

What of those on the list? The motivation was, clearly, not honest. They sought to create a media frenzy when there was none.

Should it be a crime when media seeks to incite panic or shout "Fire!" when there is none? Livelihoods were destroyed and entire economies were shifted based on intentionally false reports. Do you believe that there is no crime with respect to "freedom of speech"?

Would you be willing to die for someone's right to be 'the boy who cried "Wolf!"'?

(My sister, once, told me that she'd wanted to name her dog "Fire" so that she could walk out onto her porch and call the dog home.)
