Venezuela to Close Oil Refineries in USA?
http://vheadlines.com/readnews.asp?id=48210
"Speaking at a mass rally in Caracas before a multitude of supporters from all over Venezuela to mark the Feb. 4 coup anniversary and 7 years in office, Venezuelan President Chaves Frias has made ample reference to the current microphone war between his country and the USA..." Hmmmm. I have been following this for years now and the unpleasantness just keeps escalating. Could Venezuela be next on our "hit list"? Just throwing this into the mix for whatever it's worth. |

Nope! We're over extended as is with our other "commitments". As for the oil, my gut feeling is we are looking at "losing" Venezuelen oil no matter what and we had better get used to it. I do understand it is really not as significant as it is made out to be but I'm not sure of the percentages.
Actually, it wouldn't hurt us to be "forced" to look at other options when it comes to our energy needs. We are at the mercy of others and we have only ourselves to blame. You can't just jump on politicians (even though they are idiots anyway)...they didn't feel enough heat from the voters. Not too long ago, I just couldn't fathom why so many people brought SUVs given their miserable gas mileage and gas wasn't that cheap (~$1.50 - $2.00 before Katrina) |
