Nice car. Hmm, does it come in pink??

From what I understand when you drive a car or suv over 35 miles an hour the electirc shuts off and the gas kicks in, right?

Ugh, worse than I thought. I checked with hubby. He actually uses about 75 gal. per week, and I use about 20 gal., so that is 95 gal. per week. He spent $7,000 for just his gas last year. Not good.

Yeah, I feel bad for my son cuz he drives 4 hours a day to work and home then drive 2 hours to school and home twice a week. No wonder he moved back home cuz can't afford to live on his own with that price of gas.

Personally I do not mind, since I "went long" on gasoline in my commodities purchases. The higher it goes, the more bucks I will be making.
same here.. its time to buy gas stocks

What Liebling means is that there are 3,8 litres in one gallon. So, in Germany, it is 2 dollars for one litre... meaning...

Almost 8 dollars for one gallon of petrol, in Germany.

Petrol prices in Utah are still not so bad... 1,79 for a gallon of regular petrol. So, I still ain't complaining, after having lived in Germany and paying 35$ at that time to fill a small compact car up.

I drive about 40 km a day. My car is pretty good on saving on the petrol, and I only fill up the tank once a week, paying only 12 to 13$. So I only pay 48$ to 52$ a month for car petrol expenses.

Exactly Kuiji75!

That´s why I would of scream with happy if we have $2.00 for a gallon instead of one litre in Germany.

I use gasoline between €75 to €85 ($99 to $113) to fill my VW Golf car. My hubby and I share my VW Golf car for travel to work everyday (I work from 7.30 am to 4.00 pm then my hubby took my car for his evening work from 5.00 pm to 22.00 pm) because it´s cheapest to use VW Golf car than use my hubby´s BMW car. We only use BMW for the weekends or family outing.

Now time to look into moving to Knoxville and make it easy on the wallet!

Just paid 2.15 per gallon today... I am refueling my tank to its full to avoid the incoming 25-cents hike...

A local news runs this story-- maybe it will help.

Driving More Efficiently
* Drive sensibly
* Use cruise control
* Drive the speed limit
* Avoid excess idling
* Roll up windows on freeways
* Take unnecessary items out of cars

Keep Your Car In Shape
* Keep your engine properly tuned
* Check and replace air filters on a regular basis
* Keep tires properly inflated
* Be sure to use manufacturer’s recommended grade of oil

Stop smoking...

and start saving money... by

Quite ironic I think. Two people not working, not looking for work, living off the government and their parents, not paying taxes, and complaining to high heaven!

Well Its Stupid to have $3 a gallon of gas. Why dont republicans just suspend the gas taxes? Remember high gas prices has an effect on everything. Thats why ill be watching for the vote in congress and senate on oil drilling in alaska. If Democrats fight it and if it gets blocked im gonna watch n see how the voters react in 06 i bet it aint gonna be pretty.

Well, you are right ( did I just say that? ) higher gas prices will effect everything and everyone. The people who sell me materials will add their extra gas cost to their product. And it will cost me another 400-500 per contract to do my jobs. Will I make 400-500 less? Nope. I'll pass it along to my customers. And when I do a service call, instead of charging $65, it will be $85. And I'll pay for my gas with it and the higher groceries and utilities.

But people who don't work don't have that problem. They don't need to drive to a job every day. Students are the first ones who will be hurt. Unless they are lucky enough to live on or near campus.

$5 a gallon for gas in the not so distant future would not surprise me either. It does not matter who you vote for, gas is going to go up. Count on it. I paid .32 cents a gallon for gas when I first started driving.

I've never seen a bike that would carry 2000 pounds of tools and two of my workers, and pull a loaded 16 foot trailer. Besides, by the time we peddled it 35 miles we would be too tired to work. But I could get one for my wife. Heck she is only eight miles from work. Then another three to the kid's school. Ten to the grocery store. Sixty to the doctor. Do you ride a bike miss P?
