Mom Killed Girl for Losing Virginity

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — A mother forced her 12-year-old daughter to drink bleach for having sex and sat on her until the child died, a police detective said, adding that a 9-year-old brother was forced to watch the attack.

Detective Warren Cotton's testimony came Thursday in a preliminary hearing for Tunisia Archie (search), 31, of the Wylam neighborhood, who is charged with capital murder in the asphyxiation death of Jasmine Archie (search). If convicted, she could be sentenced to death or life in prison without parole.

District Judge Sheldon Watkins sent the case to a grand jury for review.

Cotton said Archie, who is being held in jail without bond, gave several statements about what happened on Nov. 26.

Archie was disturbed, Cotton said, because "her daughter told her that she was no longer a virgin."

She said she poured bleach into Jasmine's mouth and the child vomited, he said.

"She told me that she sat on her chest until she stopped breathing," Cotton said.

Jasmine was 5 feet 10 and weighed 240 pounds, while the mother is tall and slender. But the medical examiner ruled that Jasmine died from asphyxia (search), which is caused by suffocation, and was found dead, on her back, in her bedroom.

Geeeze, Parent have to realize that we cannot stop our children from having sex but, we could suggested them to use protection, They are not going to listen to no parent about not having sex, and there no reason for the mother to kill her own daughter.

Instead of punishing the poor girl, the mom should have called the police to arrest the guy for statutory rape of a minor.

dang... mom shouldn't have done that..

If one of my children got pregnant/their gf pregnant then I would make sure Im there to support them and would ask what happen to our discussion on anything we bring up.. what should we do and what should we support etc. If they want our support (emotionally) I would, if they want our support (physically) I would help them AND teach/help them to find source of income to support their baby Not sole depend on their parents...

This is sad that the girl died just because her mother doesn't want her break her virg. *Sigh*

WOW...that is pretty screwed up.

I wonder if the girl had actually had sex. I know some girls when I was 12 that would claim they were no longer virgins because they made out with somebody. For all we know, this girl kissed somebody and nothing more...she may not have had sex at all.

I think she was actually raped than having sex with someone...it would possibly be someone by the age of 20s or 30s who go out and do sick things with kids...

I dunno why that mother would be such a hyprocrite bitch when she just killed her daughter instead of taking her daughter to the hospital and get her examined if she's pregrent or not, etc... but the mother just made things MUCH worse so I hope that bitch gets fried in the electric chair also.

*sigh*...first she was raped, and now her life ended when her mother was so stupid doing thatshit to her.

Really, we need to stop our young children (under 18 years old) to lose their virgins. It is out of control, and it impacts on our culture very hard. We need to change it and return to 1940 to 1950's time.

If one of my children got pregnant/their gf pregnant then I would make sure Im there to support them and would ask what happen to our discussion on anything we bring up.. what should we do and what should we support etc. If they want our support (emotionally) I would, if they want our support (physically) I would help them AND teach/help them to find source of income to support their baby Not sole depend on their parents...
