Market Basket Boycott is affecting the local farmers

Why was the CEO fired? What do the employees expect to happen as a result of their strike?

I can't remember why he was fired , I guess they think by going on strike the CEO will get his job back. I do all my shopping at MB we only have 2 stores
in my city MB and Shaw's . Shaw's is cost a lot more. Everyone I know shop at MB .

I'm sorry that your store is on strike. That makes it rough since you don't have other stores. We have food stores all over the place here, Food Lion, Bi-Lo, Walmart, Piggly Wiggly, Harris Teeter, Publix, Sam's, etc.

I hate having to walk through a strike but I need to go shopping and if the protesters are there and do not like it they can pay for difference it will cost me to shop at Shaw's. I could drive to NH to shop at Wal Mart but I do not like shopping there .

I went to MB today and they had no produces or chicken and the shelves are getting bare . People where coming to shop not realizing a boycott is going on and shocked to find no veggies . I brought the last 2 sweet onions and had to go to Shaw's to by some bananas and romaine lettuce and another person asked me 'Where is all the food ?" This boycott is a wakeup call to people , they really needs to stay informed about what is going on , people had no idea the shelves are cleaned off by people buying to stock up.

I went to MB Saturday and the meat and produce were pretty bare. They had a petition going in the store and they were making announcements constantly.

I usually buy meat and produce at Hannaford, so the bare shelves didn't bother me too much. But I do most of the rest of my shopping at MB. There are Shaws and Stop n Shop near me but I don't care for either of those stores.

We only have Market Basket or Shaw's and a Wal Mart in NH . I had to buy chicken at Shaw's today and their parking lot was full only b/c of MB being boycott. A lot of people are not happy about having to shop at Shaw's b/c they cost so much more. MB employees want to shut all of MB stores down and that is going to hurt a lot of seniors that have health aides shopping or them . It going use up their food stamps or SS check real fast shopping at Shaw's. Shaw's is making killing of this , they had not been this busy since the holidays .

frostywolf , I think people finally realize what is going on b/c people pulling into Shaw's parking lot like they where giving food away. I wanted to buy some yams but they where all gone and the fruits are flying off the shelves b/c MB has none for about 5 days now .

You must be a bit closer to the coast than I am. I am just outside Lowell so luckily I'm close to Nashua and Hudson and there are a ton of stores that way. I don't think anyone around here is confused since the HQ is in our area. My FB feed is full of Arthur T supporters. The feud between the two sides of the Demoulas family is well known around here.

Yes , I live in a coastal city. I could got to Stop and Shop which is a little drive but they cost more than Shaw's . I wish the two families would think of how their feud is hurting their customers , after all we kept them in business for a long time .

I just saw on the news a local farmer is losing money b/c he sell most of his veggies to Market Basket . That is a real shame that the local farmers will be getting hurt in this boycott.
