Malaysian aircraft goes down in Ukraine; 295 dead

Awful story. Second Malaysian aircraft crashed again. Found some black boxes?

Report said: Ukrainian rebel forces have reportedly found the black box of the downed Malaysia Airlines plane amid the scattered debris.

Moscow-based wire agency Interfax has reported that Ukrainian rebel forces have the black box and have agreed to hand it over to the Russian-run regional air safety authority.

It is important to know who has the black box because that organization will control the release of the data recordings and information from on board before the plane hit the ground.
 
My first thought was - aw not again... because it reminds me of KAL-007 back in 1983 where it got shot down by Russian (well - to be more specific.. USSR). I think somebody (either Russian or Ukrainian) accidentally shot it down.

A notice posted by the UK's Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) on 14 June urged carriers to avoid overflying Crimea and parts of southern Ukraine a month ago due to safety concerns, but they were not ordered to avoid the rest of the country. Why?

I can't believe another plane went down. Those poor poor families. This is horrible news.
 
I'm leaning towards Russia shooting it down. There's a famous Canadian chef whose wife was killed on that KAL flight, Susur Lee is his name. There's a bit of Russian military conversation that was released by the Ukrainians (so it's suspect until proven true) where they talk about hoping their missle is completely destroyed so it can't be identified as what killed the people.

The pilots were idiots. They were told not to fly near 32000 feet, they had to fly much higher, and they were only flying at 33000 feet.
 
it might be 'opportunity shoot' for known spies/bounty on the plane.....hijacked to an air space.....
i wonder.....
 
Oh wow, that's extremely horrible and I heard about 23 Americans on boarding. :(
 
The death total has been increased to 298. There were three infants on board. :(

it wouldn't make any difference if it were flying higher than 33,000 feet. it can still be shot down by SAM.

a typical Boeing 777's ceiling height is around 40,000 feet and SAM can go as high as 60,000 feet.

I think there where 80 children on board , I do not know how the families can live with this , the emotional pains is going to be so unbearable to live with and there are no bodies to recover . :( Nightly News was on a hour tonight to cover this tragic news. We have no idea if any women where pregnant so there could had been more lives lost.

Right, but they were told to fly higher. Figher jets don't normally fly that high (Boeing ceiling height), so I could see how they thought it was a fighter jet.
 
Pilot's error cost 298 lives. Malaysian Airlines will go out of business.
