Ground Zero Suicide Inspired by Election
http://abcnews.go.com/US/wireStory?id=233329
Ground Zero Suicide Inspired by Election Georgia Man Apparently Distraught by Bush's Re-Election Shoots, Kills Himself at Ground Zero The Associated Press Nov. 7, 2004 - A 25-year-old man from Georgia who was apparently distraught over President Bush's re-election shot and killed himself at ground zero. Andrew Veal's body was found Saturday morning inside the off-limits site, said Steve Coleman, a spokesman for the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey. A shotgun was found nearby, but no suicide note was found, Coleman said. Veal's mother said her son was upset about the result of the presidential election and had driven to New York, Gus Danese, president of the Port Authority Police Benevolent Association, told The New York Times in Sunday's editions. Friends said Veal worked in a computer lab at the University of Georgia and was planning to marry. "I'm absolutely sure it's a protest," Mary Anne Mauney, Veal's supervisor at the lab, told The Daily News. "I don't know what made him commit suicide, but where he did it was symbolic." Police were investigating how Veal entered the former World Trade Center site, which is protected by high fences and owned by the Port Authority. Copyright 2004 The Associated Press. What a stupid way to start!
Those thinking about suicides are selfish because they don't realize how it would affect their relatives and friends. If anyone you know has talked about suicides - get them some help before it is too late! No matter if one's just kidding or not! |

Well, I can relate how he felt about this election or Bush. People are getting more depressing than ever. My friend (Old Traditional republican) predicted that there will be more suicides & significant behaviors within four years under Bush. I practically can see the 'gloomy' mood among these americans around here.
Dark future ahead. Yup. Take a look at this under Gallery: http://www.sorryeverybody.com/ |

Yeah...deep seated ones...that's for sure. I wonder if the Bush Camp has heard about this and wonder what their reactions were towards this?
Many see suicide as an easy way out of the life they don't enjoy and just percieve it too hard to crawl out of the hole they've dug themselves into -- and think they're too far 'gone' to rectify what they've done and go on the straight line. It's sad...
