Fatal stabbing at CT school

:(

What the HELL is going on with kids today??? Do they feel they're
entitled to have anything they want and you can't say "NO" to them ?
What a horrible senseless crime. I feel for the girl family and how did the boy get a knife into the school ? I saw this on the news this morning and had to turn off my TV , is was just too upsetting to hear first thing in the morning.

Thanks to school reform during early 70's. Where most old school disciplines are now illegal, Now that is the consequences we are getting.

Yeah but with all the mass shooting that happen in schools you would thinks all schools would have some of kind security in place .

Haha security in place ........really really.....

This incident just proves that if there are no guns, there's knives, or something else. I hate to say it but students should go through metal detectors and have random checks of their lockers and they shouldn't be allowed to leave their class when it's in session without an escort. Unfortunately, if someone is intent on hurting someone, they find a way to do it. What a tragic and really senseless death. I hope the student doesn't get put away until he's twenty one and skate.....

Yeah that is what I meant schools may need to start thinking about having metal detectors and have random checks of their lockers especially schools in the bigger cities. It's a horrible that we have to even think this way
but this problem is not going to go away . Some cities use to have people vote during elections when in school was in session. The schools no longer do this , there is no school on election day b/c of all the violent that been happening in schools. I am more concerned about this than having WW III .

People get shanked in the joint every day....making schools prisons won't solve this....any hooo my opinion..and mine alone...

Prisons are filled with people that guilty of committing a crime , the crimes that happen in schools are committed by one or two students , if the schools can keep weapons out schools that on that one student a lot lives can be saved.

The idea of locking schools down like prisons to render them safe is in my opinion folly....control control control can only go so far until schools will be just like the joint........
Think it through
Cages, metal detectors, armed guards......no free movement without escort.....
Those have been suggested and are being used in schools
And of course in prison and jail
I will add prison of course is very much a school and certainly you learn more inside then you do in any current dipshit classroom in America

this is laughable thinking metal detectors will stop a determined person. Remember high school students are not dumb, they're human beings conditioned to look at all loopholes and ways around things to adapt to their given environment.

human beings are always going to look at ways to get around it, maybe it might create a sense of false security for some and scare some others. there are always a way when there is a will.

why bother with all of the protection stuff? just stuff everyone into a protective bubble and call it a day!

Instead of adding more metal detectors, security, barbed wire fences, window bars and etc etc etc, America needs to go to the root of the problem. Lack of discipline and less of "me first" society.

In prison people expect violence, but not when they send their children to school to get a good education. It's bad enough that bullying doesn't get the attention and swift punishment it should, but it's heart breaking when young adults reach the point of taking a life and no one sees anything unusual leading up to it.

Sure, but the more we make schools like prison the more people who are caged will act like caged animals.....
Putting kids in lock up, behind bars to learn, with armed guards and whatever......they will begin to act like cons can't you see?
It's not the answer
I don't think bullying or whatever fad is the keyword these days warrants such a failed strategy.....we can do better. The worst ways to handle bullying is to institutionalize the plm. By dis empowering kids and locking down schools.
Instead
Teach every kid how to fight and fight hard.
ThT will go way more to stop bullies then creating rats, or dis empowering kids to run to tattletale, or zero tolerance. Bullies are not new.....it's not some new scourge we have never seen before.....the bestw ya to handle a bully
Hand em his ass
But....the above doesn't suit the needs to disempower people from an early age and make them sheep thus, bars, barb wire, metal detectors, tattle tales, controlled movement, escort, will continue to be used. Even though it's a drastically failed strategy.

That will have start a home with the parents , the teachers can't be parents too .

My boys (3)...luckily, they all were strong and healthy...and had each other's back at all times. Only 2 fights I remember well...they did not start it...but they finished it....

I do like the idea of kids playing sports...Karate...etc., ...it gives them confidence. But not all kids are athletic....They are the ones who are picked upon....

If I had to do it all over again, and the way things are in schools these days...I'd opt for home schooling. My last son will graduate in June.....Then I'm done with public schools....

Years ago, home schooling was looked down upon. Given how the world is today, I expect it's really going to start gaining in popularity among parents looking to control what their children learn, and keeping them safe.
