AOL accounts compromised

This happen to people using Verizon too ,people where getting emails that looked like it came from someone they knew and opened the email . The emails said "Hello' , 'Greeting' or 'Hi' in the subject line . I got one thinking it was from someone I knew. So I know no longer open any emails that have
'Greeting' Hello or 'Hi' in the subject line'.

Speaking of which, I got an e-mail from Verizon saying it was time to upgrade, and that was suspicious, because I don't have Verizon, so I deleted it from my Spam folder, where it was found.
 
I get emails for Facebook in my yahoo mail.... well, my facebook is under a different email than my standard email so I know they are fake.
 
You know, Gmail has some of the best spam protection there is. I use Gmail primarily these days, but I CAN link my other e-mail accounts to it, if I so choose. Not that hard to do. :P
 
I have gotten emails saying my package is ready to pick but more info is needed . I know that is a spam b/c I have not brought anything and I mark it 'spam' and delete the emails , I never open them.
