College student arrested for possession of ricin

Castor beans, water, and lye. bingo, you have ricin. Recipes are all over the place. Same for meth. I didn't look up the ricin recipe, but I presume you grind up the beans with water and add lye to precipitate it and there ya go.
 
The FBI affidavit said he learned how to make ricin on his iPhone and then bought ingredients at retail stores.
