Report: Man arrested after WMD's found in Caldwell Co. home

LENOIR, NC (WBTV) -

A Lenoir man was arrested after police said at least two weapons of mass destruction were found in his home.

The incident began just after 9:15 a.m. when the Lenoir Police Department got a call about a bomb being inside a home on Cedar Place, which is off of Hibriten Drive SW.

At the home, officers found materials they say "appeared to be consistent with materials used to construct a weapon of mass destruction."

The weapons, officials said, were a "Molotov cocktail" and a second, unidentifiable incendiary device. Both devices were collected and secured by STAT Environmental Services of Lenoir.

Police arrested 22-year-old Joseph Scott Bolick, Jr., at the home and charged him with manufacture/possess nuclear/biological/chemical weapon and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Bolick was taken to the Caldwell County Jail and placed under a $50,000 secured bond.

Glad they caught him.

Last week some kids threw a Molotov cocktail type device into a house in our area.

What's with people?

The Internet. While a blessing to some is the Devil's playground to others. You'd be surprised what one can build with instructions online and no morals.

They won't be doing that here-- they'd be caught because this area has a neighborhood watch-- they wouldn't get far.

Really? really? a moli cocktail a weapon of mass destruction, i remember tossin those things for fun as kids, lucky we never blew our hands off, anyway
really.
im no expert but WMDs, ass far as i know are nukes, nerve gas and all those "gases", biological critters, weapons to destroy entire cities, weapons that counties invade other countries for under false pretexts, weapons that have the lives of millions of people in there sites.
did i read all this wrong (scratches head)
this is a joke right?

oh pls................its a joke?

yes indeed and do tell how is that in the same category as nuking a city?
or nerve gassing one for that matter? or unleashing a virus like small pox? you know weapons of MASS destruction.
that "mass" actually has meaning to it.
what gives here?
something not right..................am in the twilight zone? (pinches self)

I don't know who makes the classifications for law enforcement agencies. It was probably initiated by Homeland Security in order to broaden their scope of jurisdiction.

Ask the termites how they feel.

sure.....but i'm asking people with minds on this thread. what they think of the classification. Do people commenting in this thread really hold a moili cocktail, ( a bottle, some gas, parifin wax, a rag) to the same level as nukes, poison gas, weaponized small pox?
i'm not chatting with the American federal gov i'm chatting to people on here. If people indeed put a half bottle of gas and a rag in the same class as thermo nuclear weapons.. well then i, think American society has more profound plms on its hands then i originally thought. the loss of reason. then again the gov never much is reasonable anyway so .....mmmmm
the mind indeed is a terrible thing to waste. when a nation does it. its a catastrophe. as what homeland security has been. what the security theatre of the tsa has been,
a young 20 something with a bottle of gas and rag is now in the same class as world dictators who butcher untoldd thousands. wow
fascinating

I think you're making a good point, and a no that's certainly not a WOMD, that's stupid. That's like treating somebody with an unregistered 22 like they have a bazooka. I don't know, obviously the guy should be charged with a crime but the charges needs to fit the crime or out justice system is lost.

Would I personally call a Molotov cocktail a weapon of mass destruction? No.

I suppose one could be used to trigger a larger explosion or chain reaction if it were deployed on a pile of explosives but normally I would still not consider that a WMD.

Molotov thing isn't a WMD but the 2nd one was listed as:

"second, unidentifiable incendiary device."

along with the charge of:

"manufacture/possess nuclear/biological/chemical weapon"

Which makes me thing he had something a lot more potent than a Molotov cocktail

Maybe, or they're just getting over zealous because of Boston........I can see them claiming one as far as manufacturing a chemical weapon....

"second, unidentifiable incendiary device"

In other words, it can be anything from a lighter to matches to a flame thrower to a woopy cushion rigged to a firecracker. OK. Why just release the moli cocktail part and not what follows? Then we have this

"manufacture/possess nuclear/biological/chemical weapon"

How does a 20 year old kid actually manufacture nukes? or biological weapons for that matter? or chemical weapons for that matter? Why is this even one charge? cant they be a bit more precise? is it that along with the moli, he had some magick shruums growing and they just figured it was nukes? or some Russian bios on the hands? mmmmm
Well we can all sleep tight and snuggled tonight. they our friends the gov got their "man" a 20 year old punk with a bag of dorritoes and a thermo nuke warhead hooved up his (add polite euphemism)
sure.
Hey. its cool. ill be the first to admit i was wrong, and need to be bitch slapped if it turns out this kid had a couple of nukes in his knapsack along with the shruums, dorritoes and playboys.
But excuse my skepticism when it comes to the gov period.
i sure hope the gov is right, and hes a wee saddam hussien (wait a minute he didn't have wmds anyway scratches head) well....... i sure hope this kid if he ever sees the light of day again gets a good winning at the ghetto lottery. *massive lawsuit against the gov)
wonder how they tracked him down?
maybe some.....(lights cigarette, breaths deep, exhales..... sips a fine sip of scotch, looks away)
smookin hot CIA spy with "special" (raises eyebrows) moves kinda sting...
never know.......
if his lawyer is reading this pm me.
(sips drink)
ill right the book
(drags cigarette, breaths deep, exhales........, looks at rising ominous smoke pondering a full scale nuclear holocaust)
never...never....know....

One thing I know for sure, these police depart has corruption in their department from time to time, how can we trust their claims?

Let me give you another example that something is fishy behind police department, and gawd fire department as well.

Prosecutor: New York police and firefighters indicted in PTSD scam - CNN.com

They were trained to do scam? What kind of cops are they, and what kind of... ahem firefighters we got?

i don't trust cops, and I don't trust how justice department was presented by cops and DA.

Now back to the topic... WMD? Oh really? Aren't these cop trying to win a big prize or something? Another attempt in scam scheme?
