Just great. When will the city get it? They cannot just prohibit people from banning guns in the city. This is their 3RD time trying to get a law to work, and they've failed all three times. Felons, sure, they can't have guns, but law-abiding people certainly have rights to defend themselves and family.

You are the one that does not get it, so is the judge. **sigh** :(

Time for Chicago to give up to pass any anti-gun laws.

Let state of Illinois make decision to regulate the gun, not city.

i don't get it. (scratches head)
if guns were illegal in chigago how was everybody getting shot?
i thought it was a no gun zone?
something fishy.................

People (liberals especially) don't use common sense with gun laws. They'll tell you if someone breaks into your home wanting to take something "let them have it." What they don't have an answer for is, what if it's you? The doctor in CT, his wife and two daughters dragged to an ATM where the mother was forced to withdraw what she could, all three tied up in their home, raped one at a time, and then set on fire. I'm not sure people can get their mind over the horror that poor man endured hearing how they suffered in court, over and over, in great details. That's his memory of his wife and daughters. In Lynn, MA, a few nights ago, a pizza driver was robbed of a pizza (food) by three people with a baseball bat, a knife and a woman with a gun. People don't realize but delivering pizzas has got to be one of the most dangerous jobs. You never know if someone is luring you out to kill you or they just want the food. You couldn't pay me to deliver food...especially at night, but any time of the day.

The laws do need to change, but it should be severe jail time for offenders and not a slap on the wrist because of their age, or "their mind not being fully formed." People, even children that kill, know exactly what they're doing. They just don't care. We need to charge the mental heath community with negligence (and jail time) for failing to act on dangerous or socially deviant cases. What we have now is a lynch mob going after law abiding gun owners and they don't care that we're not the ones breaking the laws, but we're being punished for those that do. I think what gun owners need to do is send a message; stop watching gun movies by directors that are anti gun, don't buy tickets for actors/musicians that are anti gun (and have a few regardless), stop shopping at anti gun stores. Let people know that if they trample on our rights, they don't have our money or our consent.

Makes sense! When it comes to no gun zones, criminals will automatically KNOW that "nobody" has gun, so its much easier for them to commit crimes and shooting.

I would feel much safer being around people that carry firearms.

Well said!

You could have made the entire point you wanted to make in 5 words :giggle:

Yeah, and City Hall is nothing but liberal. They don't want ANY guns around here-- I quite frankly think they should go zone by zone, and ban the guns in the most dangerous zones, and the safest ones can have a small gun-- nothing that goes through walls and stuff-- just enough firepower to wound, but not deadly enough to destroy vital organs. However, they should still ban guns in school zones, though-- where I live is virtually a no-gun, no-drug, no-gang area, because there are multiple schools and parks in this area. There two parks I know of, and 4 schools I know of (three CPS schools and Loyola University), so yeah-- nothing dangerous allowed here.

zone by zone? ban guns in the most dangerous zones? allow guns in safe zone? that's just as bad as liberal's line of thinking.

nothing that goes through walls and stuff--
then get a baseball bat

just enough firepower to wound, but not deadly enough to destroy vital organs.
illogical. that's like saying - design a kitchen knife that cuts vegetable but doesn't cut a finger. guns are lethal weapons. it's not designed to hurt. it's designed to kill. if you want to "wound"... then get a baseball bat or tazer.

I own guns and when it comes to home defense, I shoot to kill with extreme prejudice.

it's already illegal to bring gun on school zones and has always been illegal for as long as I can remember.

On the bold statement, I think you meant the non-gun owners need to send a message to gun owners to stop watching gun movies and also not go to concert or workshop for actors and musicians that wanted to show off their guns and to stop buying or shopping for guns at the gun store. That I would go along what I wrote. It is a terrible tragedy for children and people who are innocent being killed because of the propaganda. It is time to stop this madness. We need to make sure mental people don't be release until they are full recovering from their nightmare or mental illness. Don't forget that hospital people don't care and let them go whether they have a home or no home (homeless).

That is all I have to say. Carry on. :(

Of course not. I was being sarcastic. In reality, though-- there does need to be a law that the federal judical system will accept, and they've tried three times, and failed. Compromise, anyone?

No, there does not need to be a law. Why do you think their attempts have failed three times? No law needed, and no compromise wanted. You can't compromise the Constitution.

I was speaking of the City of Chicago. I am well aware of what the Constitution says. I'm just wanting to see the aldermen get this right for once, that's all. Three times, and still not getting the message.

The message is, "Quit trying to infringe on Americans' rights." The only thing the aldermen need to do is stop trying to mess with the Second Amendment.

I agree; they have a LITTLE bit of our best interests vested-- they oughta back off and use the state law, and quit trying to create one that'll override IL law, cause that's never happening.

:hmm:

the white cheddar flavored popcorn or the butter and salted?

(whispering to self .. so Chicago is in the United States .. wow .. thought it was in Canada ... )
