Blind people packin'

Now if only they will issue drivers licenses, then we will all finally be equal.

The driving is privilege, not rights.

The gun is constitutional rights.

Blind people can get gun permit if they are capable to shoot at target and pass the test.

Based on this logical, people who are ex-convict, mentally illness or depression have rights to arm the firearm.

It doesn't make sense to me - confusing.

There are some blind drivers - especially Retinitis Pigmentosa, Usher Syndrome and other vision problem. I don't think people with full blindness can drive without use assistive technology.

I have Usher Syndrome and continue to drive, also I passed the vision test and met state requirement.

Guessing they'll require a bumper sticker that says...."As a mater of fact....I do own the road!"...so get outta' my way...

As for packin'....the blind can be trained, and I would encourage it. Their sense of hearing is better than most people. Especially if they are independent and live alone. The blind are prone to muggings and rapes.

I am wonder about deafblind - full blindness.

I thought I heard a noise in that direction and shot! or someone over there called me blind so I shot at them... oh, think of the excuses they'll come up with.

You know what'd be bad ass is a seeing eye dog with a machine gun mounted on him!

Think of the fully hearing and seeing people....they shoot at random....Ever heard of a blind person committing a murder?...I haven't.

I feel a blind person who lives alone is entitled to have a gun on his/her person, even under their pillow at night....If someone comes into the room, they can hear it and ask who it is...a mugger or robber or rapist would not answer.....

Some blind people can actually ride a bicycle!

I can see this backfiring . What someone does break into a blind person house who has a gun , they'll not be able see the intruder . The intruder could jump on the blind person and get their gun before they have a chance to use.

This happens to the fully hearing and seeing people too....what I'm thinking is, that the Blind, their hearing is very sharp, moreso than a regular and fully hearing/seeing person.

The way I read it, it simply means a blind person can own a gun. That's not the same as carrying a concealed weapon.

Constitutionally, no non-felon American citizen of majority age should be required to get a license for ownership of guns. In South Carolina, we aren't required to have "gun permits or licenses." Prior to getting a concealed carry permit I could buy, own, and shoot guns without any permits or licenses.

Relating to cars, a blind person can own a car but have someone else do the driving. Owning a car and having a driver's license aren't the same thing.

I honestly don't know how I feel about that.

Off topic but do you ever wonder about the brail on drive up ATMs :D I'm sure it's just standard key pad manufacturing but it always makes me smile when I use a drive up ATM.
