Massacres might be rare here in America, but it is most certainly not rare in other countries, especially third world countries. Take Syria for example!

An AR15 is and AR15 no matter what unless it is full auto or law enforcement or military use only with a short barrel! He only bought what was legal and it is no different than any other AR15 except for the drum magazine! That does not mean that the gun was modified. All AR15s are assembled by someone! His may have been like many others which are custom?! Doesn't make it a killing machine though!

Most killers that where massacre occurred committed suicide, especially VT Tech shooting, Columbine massacre and Capitol Hill massacre.

you misunderstood. AR15 can be modified for a specific thing - hunting, shooting competition, home self-defense, military, law enforcement, ...... and massacre.

This guy modified his gun to be a disgusting killing machine with one single goal in mind - to kill as many innocents as he can in a short amount of time.

It been reported a numbers of times that the shooter is in solitary confinement.
A priest was in jail for raping young boys and another inmate killed the priest.
This happen in Boston Ma., I was surprised the priest was not in solitary confinement.

I don't think so! The only thing that made it any different from any other AR15 is the drum magazine and lots of people have them too! If it's modified for massacre then it would have to be fully automatic!

I found out that James Holmes is same age as mine and born in 1987, also he completed bachelor of science degree.

Wow, what's waste of life and money for college, and his life will be permanently ruined because he will probably sentence to death penalty or life in prison. If he used Pell Grant or federal loans so what's big waste of taxpayer's money.

I am thinking that he may have snapped due to all the pressure from med school. I was reading an article today that he is displaying symptoms of someone who had a psychotic breakdown. He is constantly spitting at the guards and has to wear a mask.

It could all just be part of a ruse to get an insanity plea in.

not quite necessarily. I don't think I've ever heard of any massacres caused by lunatics' automatic weapons.... only ATF agents.

My opinion:
I don't feel Holmes was psychotic person, a lunatic (for what he did recently, yes he became a lunatic, but not before this) or some kind of mental disorder, this is just my opinion.

Some things that tell me about why:
He graduated with a Neuroscience degree BS from a recognized university. That program track isn't very easy to get on the honor roll on.
He was funded a MS-PhD scholarship for his program at University of Colorado. (This is probably where he got some of his money to purchase gun stuff if he wasn't working.)

I think that something just snapped in his life to act like that all of the sudden.

Yeah, he's too smart. I guess he was pissed off by something like a break-up with a girlfriend. Love is usually one of the motives.

Sorry if this has been asked but since this "killer" had no problem killing and wounding innocent people, WHY did he tell the police his apartment was booby trapped? Did he all of a sudden feel "guilty"? If the police didn't know, from what I have read, they would have entered thru the front door, then all hell would have broke loose. Correct me if I am wrong.
