I would say it does not matter how others, either on AD or the general public, because there is too much apathy all over America on serious issues. The people have brought into "Let the government decide".

I agree the people have decided to give up their rights to think for themselves .
I was wondering how other people would vote on this.

This topic caught me attendant for two reasons. I was born and raised in Massachusetts. The second reason is that I do not like the sound about allowing terminally ill patients to end their lives and whether to legalize marijuana for medicinal purposes.

This I would call it murder and/or suicide. It's a wrongful action to make a decide to end a person's life just because a person is terminally ill or not. Many people do not realize that we are all considering terminally ill as well. We are not perfect in the human race because sin lives in us and we still have died anyway! That's how sick we are.

Allowing or doing to end a person's life is like giving a victory to Satan goal. Let be rewarded by the creator one who made us to live forever. We have to work and fight hard as we can until its time to rest. That's one of the honorable ways a person who pass away will get from the Creator. Don't let Satan to win our soul.

To each their own....as for myself, I opt not to be hooked up to machines if I become terminally ill....have expressed that in my Living Will, and my family knows.....

Hooking up to a machine is something I wouldn't want to hook on it too. Because hooking up to a machine is a cheating way to keep us alive that isn't made by the Creator one but man made.

The only thing I am against the idea about ending the terminally ill person who aren't on the hooking up machines.

I don't live in Massachusetts, so I wouldn't be able to vote there. However, if I was able to, or if my state does something like this as well, then my views would be as follows:

1. Definitely for legalizing marijuana. And no, I don't smoke it. It would be better to legalize it entirely rather than just for medical purposes, but if we can at least do medical purposes, then I suppose it would be a step in that direction anyways.

2. The issue of medicinal self-termination was a little difficult for me to decide on. Normally I am against suicide. I've grieved the death of a friend who decided she didn't want to stay in this world anymore despite the fact that she was in perfect health and had so much going on for her. Suicide just to end someone's emotional misery is unacceptable when there are a lot of options to seek help. However I would be willing to make an exception for the terminally ill ones, as long as they are still lucid enough to make the decision. They also must be the only ones to make that kind of decision. I have also watched some loved ones suffer physically for a long time even though they were still lucid and fine emotionally. It is so painful/heartbreaking to watch that kind of suffering. I just don't see the need to prolong someone's physical suffering when that person is just going to lose the battle and succumb to that illness anyways. Just let the terminally ill get their peace earlier if that's what they want.

If I was ever terminally ill, I would like to at least be given the option to end everything. Just so I didn't have to suffer for too long and that my loved ones would not have to watch me suffer. I also would rather not rack up medical bills by trying to fight something that I can't beat - I'd rather put my money towards my loved ones so that they could care for themselves after I pass on.

I voted yes when right-to-die/medically-assisted-suicide was on the ballot here. There is an incredible amount of oversight built into Washington's law. For me it comes down to an individual's right to choose what they want for their life, including how to end it. Another person's decision on how to end their life doesn't effect me, so why should I have a say in it? If it was me who was terminally ill I wouldn't want people voting on my medical choices.

I am for it under the right circumstances. In most cases the sick person will give signs that they are ready to give up. Pulling out their IV 's not eating or drinking or taking there meds.
When a patient gets that far gone the doctors just give them morphine in a higher dose and they fall into permenant rest peacefully. This is done all the time and not considered assisted suicide. My husband knows if I ever get that far gone, which I came very close last year, that I do not want to live like that and suffer. Just my thoughts!!!

If I am terminally ill, unable to move my ass, stay in bed 24/7 and suffer until the day I die, what's the use of staying alive?
