They used to be the Naval Training Center. Not far from the San Diego airport. You can walk around and check those buildings. I think you will enjoy it if you plan to make a visit.

My dad used to work at the Naval Air Rework Facility in San Diego.

I don't even have cable nor a TV, and I rarely go out. You have to understand that things aren't always cheaper here, especially if you shop at places like REI. That's very interesting to see you and TXGolfer have different views.

I have North Face coat that I paid $150 at Tyson Center in NoVA.

Back to the topic; it is cheaper to buy a house than rent, but you must have a good credit score to get approved from the mortgage, or you are stuck with high monthly payment for apartment/house rentals with higher down payment (only if your credit is fair / poor).

There is no win-win situation for million of Americans with fair/poor credit scores.
