Andy Griffith dead at 86.

That's so sad. :( I remember seeing that show when I was little, and Opie seemed like such a big kid to me!

A TV legend and icon is gone but will not be forgotten. RIP Andy! We'll miss you! They sure don't make them like him anymore.

I enjoyed watching him in the movie No Time for Sergeants, and the TV shows, The Andy Griffith Show and Matlock. I also liked how he maintained his North Carolina connection throughout his life.

He had a good life and quite a career. It saddens me that our seniors, like children, have nothing on TV to watch. Years ago we had wonderful programs for children and we had some great entertainment for older folks too. Now there's nothing but garbage out there. Andy had a career that would be the envy of most actors today. My sympathies to his family and friends.

I m sad about him. I always watched Andy Griffith show on TV. I favored both of him and Don Knotts.

He was buried today.

Dare County Sheriff Doug Doughtie has confirmed Andy Griffith has died and also released a short statement from the family.

"Sheriff Doughtie tells WITN News the family stated that Andy died at seven this morning, peacefully, at his home and that Andy has been laid to rest on his beloved Roanoke Island. The funeral home confirms that happened on his family farm."

I agree the stuff on TV today is pure junk! When I was a health aide my ladies clients could not believe how much sex was on the soap operas , it is nothing like when my mother watched it.

This is what I grew up watching and I still think it funny!

Oh, I remember about re-run of The Andy Griffith Show in 1994 and I tried to scare my parent by tell them - MOVIE MOVIE MOVIE!!! so they went shocked and look but... disappointed because it wasn't movie.

RIP Andy Griffith. :(

Back in 90's, I remember about The Andy Griffith Show re-run on Nick at Nite and Nick at Nite used to re-run the 1950's to 1970's shows until 1996 so anything change after TVLand launched.

Now, The Andy Griffith Show is re-run on TVLand today.

Nick at Nite changed to Nick@Nite.

I used to watch that on CKVR... which showed almost nothing but 1950s and 60s shows.

Good, honest, down-to-earth fun. RIP.

Man, I remember I'd be bored to death and look for something to watch on tv. I tuned in when Matlock show was on tv. Andy Griffith was a great tv show actor. R.I.P Mr Andy Griffith. Im sho' he was a good man.

Rest in Peace, Andy Griffith. I had watched all of his T.V. series and movies. I will always cherish remembering him. We lost a great actor and a star. Now he is at peace. :(

I heard about that on Tuesday. He will be missed.

Rest in peace... I loved you as MATLOCK!!!
