Fail.

They used their own money to buy the clothes.

But they still feel the sting of her critics, 4 years later, almost on a personal level.

Nothing new about that. Even you knew back in 2008 when Obama was running that
he had plenty of things for himself that he himself did not pay for.
Please, no double standard.

Is anyone this reckless with money that they have to spend this much on a piece of cloth?

Do they've such a low self esteem that they cannot just go out and buy clothes and create their own identity?

Not by me but, as you well know, it is the apathy of the American voters that allows this system to continue.

Oh, you mean people like Obama who got herself a $540 pair of sneakers by designer Lanvin to a D.C. food bank"

Or wear her favorite $2,330 dusty blue Rick Owens leather ves?

Or the $900 dress by designer Chris Benz she wore on an episode of “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition” benefiting homeless veterans?

Or outfitted herself in motorcycle boots, slim black trousers and a ribbon embellished t-shirt from Lanvin wich retails for more than $1,400 at Barneys?

Or the time when she visited a third-grade class in 2009 she wore her navy polka dot Lanvin dress that retailed for $3,643 on luxury online designer retailer, My Theresa?

Or her special order of thigh high boots?

Or what about recently on March 13th when she wore a $2,720 L’Wren Scott cardigan to play tennis at a mini-Olympics event with school children? Heaven forbid should she fall down and scuff up her expensive cardigan

So, maybe, just maybe the press might do better than to feign mock outrage about Romney's wife choice selection of clothes that they buy with their own money. Lucky for Obama, taxpayers get their tabs. Maybe she forgets the magnitude of the recession? Good thing mostly the media ignored her expensive designer clothing apparels.

since this thread is about Ann Romney... would it be possible to stick with only criticizing Ann Romney rather than always finger-pointing at Obama this, Obama that?

You want to make it about Ann Romney and you are out of luck.
In case you mises the link in the OP, CBS/ABC did mention Mrs. Obama and her choice of clothes. So the way I see the OP, is a cirque about women involved in the presidential election. Of you disagree, fine, but don't even try to make the rules.

The finger has already been pointed at Ann by CBS/ABC in the OP.

I'm making sure there is no double standard.

Michelle got plenty of things she herself did not pay for.
Barack got plenty of things he himself did nor pay for.
And, getting ahead of you, M. Romney will certainly get plenty of things he himself did not pay for....even with all his personal wealth.
That is the way the game is played

Why don't you. You were the one who posted "weren't paid" in #3 post.
Since you are the one who took it off topic, you should be the one to start a new thread

Yeah, but never mind Michelle's $3700 dollar navy polka dot Lanvin dress she wore for a 3rd grade class at a school.

Perhaps you missed the point in post #2 where I stayed on the OP.s topic of MM criticism of CHOICE of clothes. But you are the one (see post #3) who took it to who paid for the clothes.

Yes, you are right Foxrac, I did mention Palin but it was connected to the OP about the MM's report on the clothes CHOICE. So I was ON-topic.
Jiro posted about who PAYS for their clothes. If you don't think that is separate from the OP, that is your opinion but I do say it is OFF-topic. In case you don't remember, MM also reported on Hillary's and Laura's choice of clothes.

Yes, but not during time of election she didn't buy that much expensive dress or shirt that was after she become first lady, so that way she can afford to buy a nice dress looking good on her.
