I am very interested in comic books that has deaf people in them. If you know and please do tell me the name of comic books so I can buy them. I don't want a funnies comic like sextoon.com I am speaking of 36 pages comic book.

I collects comic book, and I have seen some of deaf characters in it from time to time.

As of right now, there's a deaf female superhero that goes by name Ronin (sp?) and she pretends to be male ninja. Her codename used to be Echo (because she can mimic anything, even speech) and she used to fight against Daredevil, and now they are ally. Last issue of New Avengers, the team actually came to rescue her from being left alone in Japan after doing secret mission for Daredevil. It's pretty cool, but she can talk and read lips very well, so in a sense she is closer to being hearing person rather than deaf person.

In current issues of Teen Titans, there's a character that is mute, so he use sign language to communicate even though he can hear.

In some of short arc, there used to be deaf character in Spider-Man and Young Justice. But that was at least a decade back.

I really wish they would give Ronin her own series, because she is one cool looking ninja even for one pretending to be "male" ninja.

Hope those helps.

Deaf characters are very very rare, and in the record, there's only one superhero who is deaf out of all comic books, and she isn't even a main character.

Deaf is very unpopular in comic book universe.

I think I remember Deaf Eagle. It was short-lived comic but Deaf Eagle has power like Batman sans hearing.

There was some picture I saw on an imageboard once with five girls, one blind, one deaf, one with short arms, one with mechanical legs and one with a burn mark on her face.

The title is on the image.

Good luck finding it if you so choose to look for it.

There was a comic book I glanced at called SexToon. A friend of mine has the original signed copy.

Unfortunately, the creator died years ago.

Ive met the creator of sextoon.com and he was a nice guy. He died several years ago in a car accident in which he was driving too fast going around a turn in the road and lost control of his car.

I really enjoyed his sextoon.com cartoons...they were very funny!!:giggle:

This must be one year old thread. I was looking this up and realized I was behind this. Deaf Eagle? Thats a real comic book or somebody just make this comic for local deaf people?

Eh, Batman don't have any powers. ;)

That's why he was an unique superhero.

Never heard of Deaf Eagle, and I couldn't google it up either.

I am wondering the same thing zing31 is wondering.

Yea now I remember it - Deaf Eagle comic is for local only at Gallaudet University which I believe in early or late 90's. I will go up to Gallaudet 's Library archives and see if I could find any publications of DE.
