I'll probably be playing my Playstation 2 since I'm trying to collect all the dog tags on Metal Gear Solid 2: Substance. So far, I've collected all the dog tags for VERY EASY and EASY. I'm missing a few on NORMAL and I'm at the very end of the game. When I beat the game, I'll play NORMAL again focusing on collecting the dog tags. Usually, the first time through takes a long time cuz I'm busy collecting dog tags. Some soldiers appear later in the game so they are easily overlooked. That's why I can speed through the game the second time except for those specific locations I've missed. My goal? Collect every dog tag in every mode... 5 modes: very easy, easy, normal, hard, & extreme. I have a 6th but I haven't found any dog tag information on that so I don't know if there are any. I can't wait to collect enough to consider myself a proud owner of the stealth suit!

You have that game yet? I think it's alot better than Metal Gear Solid 2...in my opinon though.

Why is it better? I heard that it's the original Metal Gear Solid but with the graphics of Metal Gear Solid: Sons of Liberty along with the first person view and guardrail thing as well. Is there something else included? From your post, it sounds like they added the hold up feature and included dog tags in the game as well. I remember playing the original game on Playstation and they had 3 secrets. If you beat the game one way, you get the infinite ammo bandana. If you beat the game the other way, you get the stealth suit. If you earned both secrets, the 3rd secret is unlocked... Solid Snake in a tuxedo. Is there something more in there that I don't know about? I do plan on buying that game for the Gamecube later... probably this Fall when I have money.

It's better because of how the storyline goes...and has good cast of characters rather than the sequel...

the graphics in MGS2 is definetly great, but I didnt think the story is as good as the orginal... just in my opinon that is. I just like to hear a good story line, along with great graphics that way it would be way more entertaining, ya know?

plus, the cutscenes in boss battles are extremely cool also.

Ah, I see. Yeah, the storyline is weird. There's too much surprises and suspense in Metal Gear Solid 2. I just beat the game on NORMAL a few minutes ago. Now, I'm gonna play NORMAL again so I can collect the dog tags that I missed. Heh! When I'm done with that, I'll move on with HARD. It's not even July yet! At least I still have the VR missions to finish.

What are the controls like for MGS: Twin Snakes? If I remember correctly, Playstation has 8 buttons while Gamecube has only 7 buttons.

For first person view, you press the Z button behind the R button and you use the yellow control stick for camera movement when pressed against a wall or box.

You use the b button to punch and kick and a button for firing a weapon. You use L button to select items and R button for weapon selection...so far, the style and gameplay is pretty similar to the Playstation 2 controller...expect that the gamecube doesn't have a "double click" control stick like Playstation 2 and Xbox does, you know?

L1 L2 R1 R2 L3 R3 square circle triangle x selecet start I think the PS2 controller has about 12 buttons while gamecube does have about 8 buttons

Ah, thanks!

I've just beaten the game for the 6th time! Now, I'm gonna play HARD mode. Heh! Two more levels to go! That means, 4 more rounds! I have a feeling that HARD mode is gonna be a nightmare...

Yep. just be more alert and be as sneaky as possible. Often use first person view to watch where you are going before you bump into an enemy...you shouldn't be spotted at ALL, though.

Good luck.

Actually, I've gotten every dog tag for VERY EASY, EASY, and NORMAL. Now, I've got infinite ammo and stealth suit! Now, I can hold up anyone at ease and destroy anyone I want without worrying about running out of ammo! Hehehe!

Hmmm u got a point... but on hard mode, there'll be much more enemies to take care of, and without being spotted at ALL, so let me know how it goes.

Well, I've already earned the stealth suit so I can hold up the soldiers while being invisible! Hehehe! I just started playing HARD mode. It took me a few minutes to get to Olga without any alerts and collected every dog tag along the way (except those that require a lethal gun). Hehehe!

I think that's the PC version? I'll probably get it for the PC since I shoot better using PCs.

Yeah It might be for the PC...

you ever noticed that PC games are always cheaper and released before the console versions? I mean, why is that?

why must PC games always go first and then console games go last and have a higher price? kinda irony, if you ask me.

Actually, it's a bit of both. There are a lot of console games before PC games. There are also PC games before console games. Usually, it's because of the company that designed the games. They originally planned the games for the consoles, but they realize that the game is successful so they release it on PC. A couple of games like that would be Metal Gear Solid and Grand Theft Auto 3. Sometimes, those games don't work out well that way. The same thing goes for PC to console. Some games are more successful on PCs while some are more successful on consoles. Doom is the kind of game I'd rather stick with PC since it was originally created for PC. The only pro that console games have is that they will work on your console just fine, while PCs sometimes get behind and need to be upgraded for specific games.

Ummm...I dont know what to say, but....

Unfortunately, due to unexpected circumstances, I had to sell the xbox a month ago. (That was why I hadnt been posting much in the VG forums since it hurts missing the xbox that I loved so much)

However when things get better, I will be picking up another xbox along with a PS2 and pick up where I left off.

But Doom 3 isn't being developed by Microsoft. The developers also expressed that they desire to have it on the Mac too.

After all, Doom 3 preview made its first debut on the Mac before the PC.

I just had a lot of fun today with the stealth suit! If you play the tanker episode, try playing with the marines. If you line it up just right, it's possible to knock down one soldier and create a domino effect for the rest of the soldiers. As soon as you knock him down, switch to 1st-person view and watch the show. It's hilarious! My roommate and I were laughing our asses off seeing them all falling down then getting up and wondering what hit them. Hehehe!

just an wonderment, but what's exactly is the difference between PC and Mac? as they are both computers, right? but how do they work differently? I dont think I ever owned or tried a Mac before.

(is Mac owned by Apple or something?)

Mac is owned by Apple. Mac is more of a slow graphics computer made simple while PCs are made for experts and speed. I can't really give much criticism for Macs and PCs since I've used both and prefer PCs anyway.

I didn't play the video games that much.. but I plan to play Gunnm (Battle Angel Alita): Martian Memory PSX game on emulator, EPSXE since I don't want to moddin' my PS to play G:MM... Whenever I am done with it then I will play Rurouni Kenshin PSX on EPSXE. Once I am done with these games, I will have to replay Xenosaga since I didn't beat it yet.. and Xenosaga Ep II is coming soon so I need to replay to refresh my memory and prepare for that game.

Also I really need to beat Final Fantasy X-2, Dynasty Warriors 4 and GTA: VC.

In all honesty, I don't think I will beat these games before summer's over..
