M$ and Apple against on Blu-ray

No wonder there is no blu-ray on Apple.

Anyway... here the story on why they decide to keep DVD and prefer stream or download as their future format.

Probably several reason why we shouldn't buy DVD/Blu-Ray because of bad environment. However, there is problem that not everybody have high-speed internet to bear our time to download.

hulu.com is streaming and do have closed caption, but not all of them. Both on tv show and movie

Well, Microsoft was heavily involved with HD-DVD due to their VC-1 codec being the video codec for the format. So of course, they would say that. Once Apple makes a decision, they will stick to it, no matter what. Although I do not agree with it because I believe the consumers should have the choice to view Blu-ray movies on their computers. Not to mention some people would like to author movies onto Blu-ray discs... which they can do if you install a Blu-ray drive.

Movies in HD through Netflix are usually somewhere from 2.5GB to 5GB depending on the runtime. A movie can go up to 50GB on Blu-ray. Here in Canada, we have a bandwidth cap, depends who you subscribe to. It could vary from 10GB to 100GB a month.

Yup and some ISP in USA start cap on bandwidth, but not under my ISP.

I don't support end of physical discs for games because some people don't have enough bandwidth to speed up the download, especially dial up and slower DSL, also some of them have bandwidth cap.

I prefer physical discs because of value if I ever wanted to sell it and get something different. Online media has no resale value and bandwidth is the issue if lot of people downloaded over the internet. It will result with internet congestion.

If PC games release in physical disc that include Steamworks so no way for people could sell their games to others.

Steamworks is form of DRM that Valve offered and if you buy games in physical disc with Steamworks so you have activate it via online to input the code, once after activated, your game will appear on Steam.

That's goes only for PC, none available for Mac

I hope there is new law adopted on internet being required to have closed caption here in US.

You can use a Blu-ray drive on a Mac. However, you cannot play movies on it from what I know.

Yes, I hope Obama would sign up agreement for it soon before starting on January 2011.

I downloaded this app from Cydia but UnlimVideos won't load on my iPhone, just waiting with loading status for over 5 mins.

I don't think that Blu-ray has influence on graphic and the graphic are usually influence by CPU and GPU.

Exact right.. Unfortunately many people thinking Blu-ray has influence on graphic.

I am witness that compasion of PS2 and PS3, I borrowed PS2 from my friend, due My (Cyber Home) DVD player was died. I watched movies on PS2's screen looks more crisp like PS3 Blu ray does.. why I do need PS3?
