Can I use other mail programs, such as Microsoft Outlook, to retrieve my Netscape e-mail?

My answer is yes!

E-mail setup - Sidekick T-mobile, Microsoft Outlook Express 6.x, Microsoft Outlook, and Microsoft Outlook XP

The AOL Beta team would like to thank all who participated in the Open Mail Access beta test. Due to your efforts, Open Mail Access (IMAP) will be available to all AOL members in the United States beginning Monday, April 5, 2004!

It's important to note that IMAP access will only be available through the beta servers (beta.imap.aol.com and beta.smtp.aol.com) until April 11, 2004. On Monday, April 12, 2004, you will no longer be able to log on to these servers.

Please make sure that within the next week you change your account to point to the official servers: imap.aol.com and smtp.aol.com. The Open Mail Access beta area will remain live until April 12, 2004, so that you can utilize the FAQ's for setup instructions during the transition. You do not have to create a new account in your e-mail program, just edit the settings for your current account.

So? I rather stick with our own email accounts. I don't like fiddling around with Outlook. Almost all of the email viruses that people get are through MS Outlook. I'm happy enough with Yahoo and Hotmail...

I've tried using it several times and it just plain sucks. I gotta keep changing the settings each year in order to adapt to RIT's email servers. Now, I've got my RIT account set to forward all mails to my yahoo account so I don't have access that damn annoying slow webmail. Heh!
