PC Games

What PC games that are you currently play? Any news or topic related to PC games then post here and discuss.

I got Crysis Warheadin last 2 days then installed it yesterday and played for couple of hours, it's really good game for sure.

I'm waiting for new RAM from shipping then I could play The Sims 2 so smoothly with max families.

I play The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion with improvement/extra magic mods for most time. Sometimes I go play Star Wars Battlefront II with Conversion Pack v2 mod.

How did it put you to sleep?

I've never played it, but a friend of mine played it and it was enjoyable watching him play. It was almost like a movie. Sometimes, it was even funny!

My pc is too old for decent new pc games, because most decent games require NVIDIA 8+ video cards, and I can't buy it, because my motherboard comes with PCI, not PCI Express or better motherboard. This is why I bought PS3 to save $.

Most video cards are pretty cheap these days. You can get a decent one for under $100.

Mobo's are pretty cheap as well... you can get a decent one for under $150. Just do some research and you'll be gobsmacked at the prices ;D

Age of Empires 3 and Starcraft: Brood Wars

Why don't you build a new system urself with $5 AMD64 mobo with PCI-Express 16x slot. You can do it!! if you can find mobo with similiar processor and memory configuration of your system with PCI-Express built in to save money.

I just bought it through "buy now" and assembled with AMD64 and rest of parts that I parted out from "murdered" mobo. >> check my "Mobo and CPU questions" in this thread. Board works nicely and my system's really fast even though it's an Emachine rebranded board. I planned to get Nvidia 6600GT or 7600GT (don't get 'plain' one without "GT" on end). I have 1GB installed on the board so hopefully it's more than enuf to run game smoothly.

I haven't played game for long while but my son play Rollercoaster Tycoon 2 game and he created nice active park and being a "manager" of the park. It's pretty much like SIM game. I planned to get SIM game (one for 11 yr old kid) and install it to newly built system and try out to see how good it is. I will be installing "Myst- Exile and Myst- URU" games which is graphical intensive even though it's old. But put lot of stress on graphic card. My lappy did okay on that game and I have to set the AMD Turion to full speed in order to have smooth running game with few jitters. Some PC have Cool'n'Quiet technology and you just simply set it to "Performance" mode to make processor run at top speed at all time for better gaming. I have no idea about Intel tho.

Sometime you might have to unload some running program on PC in order to have it run smoother like while booting up after "Windows XP" splash screen, press and hold "SHIFT" key till XP arrive to it's desktop. You'll note your system running faster with less startup programs. Give it a second try.

Sometime I find it boring and decide to check the internet for some mods to spice up the game better. For example, Midas Magic mod allow you use new magic for fun like summoning the melon, pumpkin, or cheese atronaches, unleashed the lighting storm on monsters out in field, or act like Jedi with Force magic spells. You can check out "Midas Magic" videos at YouTube.
I had to be careful with mods since Oblivion cant handle much of mods, result in crashes in short time due to some scripts dont work well together.

I have interested in playing World of Warcraft but perhaps later when time is right.

PC Games ruled thanks to the mods!

First-Person Shooters and some real-time strategies. I'm starting Call of Duty 4 again. I'm eagerly waiting to play World in Conflict too. Crysis was okay, I was really looking forward to that but for some reason I was let down.

I just started playing I Have No Mouth and I Must Scream. It's from 1995 and it's about these 5 people struggling to get out of this hellhole they're trapped in for 109 years.

In the future, 3 major countries developed supercomputers that were capable of thinking for themselves. Those 3 computers became better and merged into one computer, which eventually wiped off every living being on Earth... except for 5 humans for the purpose of pleasure and torture.

This game plays similar to the King's Quest VGA series.

No, it's only for Xbox 360 version, it had released in last 2 years ago.

Wow, requirement system for GTA IV seems too strict, bad news for PC gamers with Pentium 4 and D.

The only PC game that I am currently playing the The Sims 2. I play other people's lives because I don't have one of my own. I am currently creating my dream house... LOL... it's been fun to make. I play it on the family desktop computer because the game is not suitable for a laptop.

I want to get Flight Simulator eventually, but for now I won't bother.

And I have Zoo Tycoon on my laptop. I know it's a kiddy game, but I put it on because I am cool like that.

<---got more PC games stuffed in my Gateway FX gamer laptop and playing them with a xbox360 controller.

Let's see what I crammed into the poor Gateway:

GRID
Colin McRae Dirt
Outrun2006: Coast 2 Coast
Ghostbusters the video game
Gears of War for Windows
Saints Row 2
GTR Evolution and its addon, RACE07
Fallout 3 plus the expansions The Pitt and Operation Anchorage
TOCA Race Driver 3 (the prequel to GRID)
Need for Speed Pro Street and Undercover
Godfather II

I cant wait to get my hands on Need for Speed: SHIFT 'cause it's a GRID clone but with the bonus of including the Nurburgring Nordschleife 15 mile track that GRID didnt have. Plus I want to get DIRT2 but I have to add in the new release of DirectX11 to my GeForce 9800MGTS in order to play it.

Lately I've been pushing the Gateway to extremes with extended sessions of both Dirt and GRID and the laptop seems to enjoy the abuse I throw at it lol.

I started playing Half Life 2 two days ago. I am on stage where I has to find the teleport room to escape from prison. Antlions are best weapon I ever used in Half Life 2, along with Gravity Gun. I laughed at guards when antlions attacked them as they were ragdolls to vicious dogs.

Just want to let you guys know if you play Crysis on PC with single video card is not good idea because I get crash few times today because of my video card GTX 260 isn't powerful enough. I suggest dual video card or GTX 295 and up is best to play Crysis. I have to lower setting video, I don't care.

I had finished the couple of Crysis and never got crashed, except for choppy so I had lower the graphic setting so it don't bother me.

I don't want get dual video card because use more power consumption.

GTA IV has heavily requirement system than Crysis does, also GTA IV don't support SLI either.
