Being scammed by a user from XBOX forum

Check this out - someone has been scammed by a deaf scammer, enjoy!

My friend showed me this though

So I'm being scammed... - XBox World Australia User Forum

Quote:
I always hoped this would happen to me. Now let's see how far I can take it. NOTE: The name I am using to reverse-scam, Adrian Wilson, is fake.
Also, if anyone is interested in being Adrian Wilson's business partner, let me know. Preferably someone good at creating letter-heads.

Here is the original email:

FROM STELLE KOMANA
ABIDJAN.IVORY COAST
WEST-AFRICA

DEAR ,ONE

I AM DEAF GIRL MY NAME IS STELLE KOMANA THE DAUGHTER OF LATE DR AND
MRS ALFRED KOMANA, MY FAHTER WAS A VERY WEALTHY COCOA MERCHANT BASED
IN ABIDJAN. THE ECONOMIC CAPITAL OF IVORY COAST BEFORE HE WAS
POISONED TO DEATH BY HIS BUSINESS ASSOCIATES, ON ONE OF THEIR OUTING
TO DISCUSS ON A BUSINESS DEAL. WHEN MY MOTHER DIED ON THE 21ST
OCTOBER 2001. MY FATHER TOOK ME SO SPECIAL BECAUSE I AM MOTHERLESS.

BEFORE THE DEATH OF MY FATHER ON 29TH NOVEMBER 2002 IN A PRIVATE
HOSPITAL HERE IN ABIDJAN. HE SECRETLY CALLED ME ON HIS BEDSIDE AND
TOLD ME THAT HE HAS A SUM OF US$12.500.000 (TWELVE MILLION FIVE
HUNDRED THOUSAND, UNITED STATES DOLLARS) LEFT IN A LOCAL BANK HERE
IN ABIDJAN.

HE ALSO EXPLAINED TO ME THAT IT WAS BECAUSE OF THIS WEALTH THAT HE
WAS POISONED BY HIS BUSINESS ASSOCIATES, THAT I SHOULD SEEK FOR A
FOREIGN PARTNER IN A COUNTRY OF MY CHOICE WHERE I WILL TRANSFER THIS
MONEY AND USE IT FOR INVESTMENT PURPOSE. (SUCH AS REAL ESTATE
MANAGEMENT).

I AM HONOURABLY SEEKING YOUR ASSISTANCE IN THE
FOLLOWING WAYS :

TO PROVIDE A BANK ACCOUNT WHERE THIS MONEY WOULD BE TRANSFERED TO
SERVE AS THE GUARDIAN OF THIS FUND AND MY YOUNGER BROTHER KEVIN IS
20 YEARS. TO MAKE ARRANGEMENT FOR US TO COME OVER TO YOUR COUNTRY TO
FURTHER OUR EDUCATION AND TO SECURE A RESIDENTIAL PERMIT IN YOUR
COUNTRY.

MOREOVER, I AM WILLING TO OFFER YOU 10% OF THE TOTAL SUM AS
COMPENSATION FOR YOUR EFFORT INPUT AFTER THE SUCCESSFUL TRANSFER OF
THIS FUND TO YOUR NOMINATED ACCOUNT OVERSEAS.

FURTHERMORE, YOU CAN INDICATE YOUR OPTION TOWARDS ASSISTING ME AS I
BELIEVE THAT THIS TRANSACTION WOULD BE CONCLUDED WITHIN SEVEN (7)
DAYS YOU SIGNIFY INTEREST TO ASSIST ME.

ANTICIPATING TO HEAR FROM YOU SOON.AND PLEASE DO HURRY TO ASSIST US
OUT HERE NOW THAT THIS COUNTRY IS IN POLITICAL CHOAS ,WE URGENTLY
NEEDS YOUR KIND ATTENTION.

THANKS AND GOD BLESS
STELLE AND KEVIN

And my reply:

Dear Stelle,

I am sorry to hear of your misfortune. I, too, have lost my Father in similar circumstances. He was also killed by an associate, although it was an accident. So I know what it is like to lose a parent.

I would like to help you in transferring the money. Because we have so much in common, I will do everything I can to make the transfer easier for you. But forgive me, I will need some time to find my account details. You see, I keep all of my information and forms stored in a set of drawers in my attic. As you can imagine, it is very hard to find anything up there, as it is very messy.

I will search for the information tonight. I would like to know more about you. Would you mind telling me about what sort of person you are? And what you do for a job?

I look forward to hearing your reply and moving forward in this transaction. And I hope that you will donate some of the money to charity in your father's memory.

Sincerely,
Adrian Wilson.

P.S. Can you please not type all in capital letters. It is very hard to read. Thankyou.

P.P.S. I would also appreciate it if you could send me some proof of your identity, such as an image of your driver's licence or a passport photo. I am very sorry to ask, but my father raised me to be wary of people I have not met.

I'd like to add to this thread, that there has been a surge lately of "Free Rockband Songs' or 'Free Microsoft Points'. These are 'phishing' sites. They either end in TK or something, which is often a dead tell that it is not a legit site.

Some of you on XBL may have already recieved random messages telling you to go to this or that site to get 'free' stuff.. SCAM.
