Norton Ghost

Hi, I am using Norton Ghost Version 10

I copy my hard drive complete and also ran a backup start point. I then restored my lap top using the factory disc.

I am now trying to restore my Outlook Express client and can not find the old emails ECT.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you
Russ

So..... you made a ghost image of your hard drive... and you used your computer's installation disk to re-install the OS?
(if I'm guessing correctly, you're mounting the ghost image and trying to find your OE files and stuff?)

That's not really the way Ghost is intended to work, if you wanted to back up your settings and do a fresh install you should have used something like the "files and settings transfer wizard".

All is not lost, what you might want to do is dump your ghost image back to your hard drive, then back up your OE email and settings via the "file and settings transfer wizard" or some other way, then use the factory install CD again.

Good luck.

Agree with FarmerJoe. If you use the OEM restoration process you will not get the data files that most likley reside on your ghost image. Restore the Ghost image and see what that gives you.

Back up Outlook Express addresses and email by exporting files (File---Export). Before you restore OS from Norton Ghost. I back up my Incredimail files once in every while. It was a lifesaver when one of my desktop crashed and won't boot XP. I had to reinsall XP and had backed up Incredimail files and restored it. This made my wife happy. LOL. So don't expect that Norton Ghost save everything for ya.
