Forced to pay after expired Xbox live Gold?

Has any of you been forced to pay after your expired xbox live gold? Because my old gamertag name was expired and I had moved to new address and new cc and xbox suspended my gamertag after it expired and said I must fix my payment thingy in my account. reason why I was trying to get in my old gamertag to use my 100C remaining balance to buy some picture pack for my xbox 360. I saw in my account it said requires to click 12 months gold membership and add my new credit card number. I see no option to choose GOLD membership or Silver Membership. Wow Xbox live forced you to pay. If not then your gamertag will be suspended and you would be unable to use it. I can't go in my old gamertag ID now until I have to pay to open it to Gold membership. Geez. Does that happen to ya too?

Hasn't happened to me, seems unfortunate. Silver is an automatically free membership, and everyone gets it, Silver doesn't allow online play, which Gold does. Silver allows everything else that can be gotten via Gold though.
Did you cancel your old CC? Did you call a M$ representative??

Zing, bro.. XBOX live won't force you make to re-pay the 12 month gold memebership period. its not end of the world! Whenever you feel ready to re-purchase gold memebership for 12 months. That's your flexible. They give you options like a $7.00-$9.00 for month, a $19.95 for three months or fully pay $50.00 for 12 months. Its up to you!

To me, I must be honest with you, I am not turn me into play video games online that often. Like I play online three or four times in a year. I was like what the waste! But its okay.

My Gold membership will be expire by Sept 2007, GOLD will down to SILVER membership. I am not gonna crying as such cry-baby!

Zing, what? Are you deadly serious? What the friggin rip off!? You really scare out of me already, because I never thought they would do like that. If my gametag down to silver, result they would suspect my gametag, due force me re purchase the gold memebership. I would be piss at MS, they want the people's money with their own dirty profits. That's BIGGEST sucks!

I will research it more infomation later to find out why they do that.

Ok all ... I just talked to that bastard MS people. They explained to me they are automaticaly charge you xbox live after it expires. So they said all credit card users will be forced to pay every renewal. I am shocked and pissed at them. I sold my xbox 360 (white one) 6 months ago and now I got the Elite. I haven't get to use my old gamertag since it expired on Apr 15 and they suspended my account.

They told me that they had already send to collection agency and now my credit score is bad because of this sh*t. They said that once you use credit card you are forced to pay every renewal unless you called to cancel it before the expire date. They said it is in the contract in agreement terms. They said there nothing they can do but to cancel my xbox live account. So now I have to pay the collection agency for the due since Apr 15.

I told them "You xbox are doing dirty business and I am going to stick with PS3 since they are free online service and their reps are friendly." They replied "Well that's ok. Is there anything else I can help you with?" Geez then I hang up.

So now I am warning everyone of you guys not to use creditcard or you can end up trouble like I do unless you know how to handle to call to cancel account before it expires. So best use the pre paid cards in stores and it will not automatic renewall since it's not credit card.

WTF at MS anti-trust law.

Don't forgot to tell them, "You know that Wii will outsell Xbox 360 because of that" then they are scared off.
