Help! about open a file

Could somebody please help me how to open a file which was sent to me via email. On the end of the file, it got .MDI, like example mystory.MDI. I have never seen that before. I later learnt that MDI is Microsoft Document Image. I have found Microsoft Office Document Imaging in my computer but I am getting this message 'The selected file is not a valid Microsoft Office Document Imaging file'. I did try to change it to .jpg and .tif but not work. Any suggestion how to open the file?

Do you know that person who sent you that file? Ask that person to resend you with regular attachment file. That person has to set up to change the file's name that you could open. I never heard of MDI. file. I wouldnt trust it if I never heard of it.
 
Do you know who the sender is and is it someone you trust? ....if not I wouldn't open it if I were you....:dunno:

Yes, it is from my sister and she sending me her presentation award but I couldn't open it. :(
