I am starting to like my PS3. At first I thought it was 50/50 okay. The recent new firmware upgrade improved pretty alot on PS3. DVD movies are upscale into HD. Which show pictures in near high qualities. But the subtitles via DVD on HDTV are still crap. Games are pretty cool and easier to control than it did on xbox 360. I remembered playing games on xbox 360 and then tried out on PS3 and the gameplay on PS3 is alot better. Xbox 360 have few glitches and PS3 I dont see any glitches.. I don't know why. Of course PS3 have hard time selling PS3 systems due to fewer games in stock.

I like xbox 360 because you can collect gamescore and ur friends can see what games you played or beat. PS3 doesn't offer this but it does show what your friend currently online playing.

Most important of all Blu Ray are awesome! I had been renting blu ray movies via netflix/blockbuster online.

I am sad that many deafies get to choose only 1 system... some of us choose xbox 360 and some choose PS3 which lead us hard time getting us all into league.

Most of us have a 360, but I believe more of us will have a PS3 by or in 2008.
I saw some pictures of what the PS3 does to upscale old PS1 and PS2 games, and I was really really impressed. Do you have a PSP? Sablescort mentioned that the PSP got an update for connectivty to the PS3, and it can also be done away from home. I do not know the specific details concerning this, but it seems awesome.

I love PS3 at overall, also there's few cons.

I have cons for PS3...
-PSN is so-so but you will force to sign out in certain time then I had quit the game and re-sign in, that waste of my time since Xbox 360 has sign in feature via circle of button on controller. I received DNS error but I had changed 2 ethernet cable but rather to use PS3 branded ethernet cable to keep any error so low. Wireless is VERY bad in around my house because unable to sign in on PSN at all time. My router is Linksys WRT54G ver. 6 with latest firmwire.

How I can address this issue? also my NAT is Type 3 but want change to Type 2 and noth of types aren't perfect. I'm doing well with Motorstorm online but so-so on RR7.

Xbox 360 has same issue with NAT like PGR3, PGR 3 has bad server for gamers with router, it don't matters on wired or wireless but best is direct to modem.

-If your HDTV don't support 1080p then you will go out of black, such as mixed of black and white on screen and feel like HDTV is trying to screw us up. I was formatted to 480p then re-mapped for 720p and 1080i then it looks so good but 1080i isn't good when browse on internet like shake up on fonts, that annoying me.

That's one biggest pros is... PS3 does offers download in perform background then we don't need wait and leave PS3 unplay for all night until download is complete, also download speed has increasing, alot improved than before.

RR7 looks ALOT better than RR6 because texture on cars are smooth and nice, unlike RR6 when you will noticed little wave on background of cars, also no big deal.

Graphic on RR7 is more advanced, almost full in background since Xbox 360 is limited.

Define for RR is Ridge Racer.

I have Wii, but I am planning to get PS3 sometimes in a year or two. I am not planning to get Xbox at all.

I think I am waiting on PS3 because I don't have HDTV, and it looks like PS3 is requiring you to have one?

No it does not required you to have HDTV to play PS3 but it would be better to have HDTV with PS3 though. It works on standard TVs but graphics wont look good and harder to see when games is in dark area. HDTV show it brighter and clearer.

I agree!

No, You don't need have HDTV to play PS3, also composite cable is included in box.

Composite cables are included with the PS3... but you would be stupid to play with them. The PS3 is a HD system, its optimum gaming tv is a HD tv, preferably 1080p.
I have some experience playing the XBOX360 with composite cables, and it honestly is not good. Playable yes, but not good. I can't see as well, I can't read text in some games. With the 360 and the PS3, HD is the way to go. The Wii is playable with a SDTV, but it does offer component cables for a better graphical output.

Yeah I remmy I played World poker on X360 and I can't read words in that game with my standard TV. So I got HD and was wowed by the way it look.

You are so insane to call anyone an stupid.

I'm talking about Silentwolfdog that he don't own HDTV then he can use composite cable for PS3 on SDTV, even if component input isn't included.

Don't call anyone is stupid who use composite cable but if they are unable to afford HDTV or not interesting to get HDTV then they can use composite cable, even if they want too and that's their business but resolution issue isn't affect gaming online, such as conflict on between SDTV and HDTV.

It's not cool to bash any poor gamers who can't afford it.

For me, I wouldn't mind if use composite cable if any of TV isn't included with other video source like at most hotel, family's house or anywhere that's outside of home.

I'm currently use HDMI cable for PS3 (via 720p/1080i) and component cable for Xbox 360 (via 720p), also I had changed to composite cable to watch DVD movies in CC.

Don't forgot about one thing...

If your DVD isn't support subtitle but does support CC then you have change to composite cable to watch DVD movies in CC, such as Laguna Beach season set 2, Run's House Season Set or CSI Season Set.

I can careless about 480i for tv shows and movies in CC.

Only reason that Sony don't including any other video cable than composite cable in package because they allow gamers to make choice for PS3, such as component cable, HDMI cable or DVI cable (HDMI to DVI cable).

I'm keep my composite cable for travel in later.

I generally like my PS1 with 6 games so But its still inside my walk in closet! so I was genuinely thinking to give it away. :hmm:

But curious If I am buying ps2 or ps3 CD games can use with my PS1 box :dunno:

No. If you own PS3 system it can play all PS1, PS2, and PS3 games. Or if you own PS2 system you can play PS1 and PS2 games not PS3. PS1 system only play PS1 games.

Yeah it is possible to connect to the PS3 by PSP on the internet, but the PSP will not access PS3 games, but will still access the videos, pics and music that you have stored on the PS3.

Now I dont need to load my pics on the PSP's MS when I can access the PS3's pic files and show family and friends pics. Even the PS3's "falling pictures" slideshow will stream to the PSP online.

All I have to do is leave the PS3 on "Remote Play" mode then leave home with the PSP on hand and go to any wifi hotspot. I now prefer to surf the internet using the PS3 as a proxy server cause the PSP's web browser is pretty limited and keeps running out of memory. Accessing the PS3's browser on the PSP was pretty fanatastic as I FINALLY could access my aol email account on the PSP thru the PS3 instead of using only the PSP.

After 3 months with the Pureisutēshon Surī I love it more than I did the 360. So I'm pretty happy with it because Sony regularly keeps the firmware updated almost every month compared to M$ doing a big FW update every 3 or 4 months. So all in all the Surī is really worth the $600 I spent on it. I'm also thinking of installing Yellow Dog Linux PS3 edition to replace my Win XP laptop as my primary computer.

I'm start to loyal to Sony.

I like PS3 better than Xbox 360 in general but both of them are different.

I downloaded Tekken 5: Dark Resurrection from PSN and looks like aracde version, also graphic looks closer to PS2ish but seems like upscale into HD.

I can't wait to get GT5 (MORE SWEET THAN FM2), Sega Rally, MGS4, Lair, GTA 4 and other several games for PS3.

When I get a HD TV, I might try a PS 3 out later. I think PS 3 will get better in a year or less. Who knows!

They will once GTHD and other poplaur games come out for PS3. The games currently out in stores for PS3 are just plain games. Only those that play every games will buy them but the gamers that are only into fewer but poplaur games will play them daily. As for right now I am not seeing curently game out there that would excite me. The game I am aiming for is Nascar 08 coming out next month. GTHD come out in 2008. I like play story line FPS games such as Max Payne. I dont see any like this for PS3 right now. This is why they are down for while. I hate to wait another year like I did with xbox 360 which I had waited over 1 years for the games I wanted to play such as Nascar, Halo, FM2, and GTR. GTR canceled and it's the reason why I quit and sold xbox 360. Nascar waited forever to put on X360.
