I have a Lexmark X75 Printing Trio (printer, fax, and copy).

Anyway, I just bought 2 new cartridges: Color and Black/White.

I did the alignments, and I printed a picture from my e-mail that I sent from my cell phone. Anyway, it is lacking normal colors. After doing the alignments again, and cleaning the cartridge--the pictures came out better, but it's lacking real life colors. I realize after looking at all the pages it printed when I cleaned the cartridges and aligned it--I noticed that the PINK color is blurred and not printing solidly like the rest.

It told me that I may need a new cartridge. I am not happy about this because it is 60 dollars for 2 cartridges! Is there any other thing I can do to get the PINK flowing nicely like the rest? If not, then I can try to send it back for a replacement.

Anyone have a clue what I can do to fix this?

Thank you!

hmmm, did you try cleaning the print head. it could be dirty. there should be a button on screen or on printer controls to make it clean the print head.

I went into the preferences, and it had a "clean now" button, and that's what I did. It prints the colors, and it said that if I see a skip between the line across it, then it's not flowing out colors. I cleaned again, and it said that I may need a new one (which it is already). Grrr, I don't like this, and I hope it can be replaced free if nothing else I try fixes it.

it could be that or the pink flowing hole or whatever it is got clogged.. some sites do suggest LIGHTLY adding some water on where the pink should be coming out and then dabbing the water off, then re-inserting the ink cartridge back into the printer... it'll work most of the time. if not, have someone look at it.

blah same as mine printer lexmark all in one isnt work with my ink so I fix it then now my printer is broken! cuz of power on/off isnt work wahh now I have no printer and scanner all in one lol oh well gotta have to figure it out lol

I don't like Lexmark printer. I prefer my own Epson (C84) printer and scanner (2480), it good for photo :)

Well, I tried the water suggestion twice, and it still does not come out well. When I blot it with paper, it doesn't come out well like the blue and yellow color. I cleaned it twice (on computer), but it comes out the same. It almost didn't print any pink on the second cleaning. I am thinking of taking it for a replacement.

I like Lexmark. I never had a problem with the colors. It's the first time I do, so I think it must simply be a defect on the ink itself. I learned something new about cartridges.

Probably. I do the same thing for my cartridges (I have a Lexmark printer as well), and that somewhat worked. Just take it in to be looked at.

Try the print preference from your computer and set it darker color. Next time, you buy one, make sure that you check the expiration date. That makes a big difference. The date usually lasts 6 months before it dry out. I realized that the cartridge ink manufactures cheat and made us to buy more inks. It's because of the copper chip at the bottom or side of the cartridge that has a secret code to "inform" your printer to tell you that it is out-of-date or dry out.

Yup heard that from dirty rotten HP. Former CEO at HP who made a smart move to prevent HP owner from refilling HP cartridge themselve. Now newer HP printer have better cartridge that allow you either refill or buy bulk for cheap. Sheesh! cuz I have HP PSC 2175 3-in-one printer using expensive out of date "dirty little secret" cartridge!!. I ignored flashing lights and it warned me it's low while cartridge actually is brimmin' full. I just click "OK" to shut-up and Print!!

Sometime If you wanting to print picture from photo, use Photo quality cartridge. IT is expensive. If printing something else, use just regular color cartridge. I think it culd be that your Lexmark printer is malfunctioning. IF it's broke, throw it away. Ain't worth fixin'

That is something new to me about the difference color cartridge as Photo quality and regular cartridge. I have a HP psc 2410 photosmart all-in-one (printer, fax, scanner, and copier). It is allright. I just wanted to turn the scan on instead of turning the ink printer on. I am not going to buy any HP printer. I had two Epson printers, and they wasted a lot of inks. I finally got rid of them.

I don't know what is the best printer. A few years ago, I almost bought a Canon printer, and you could see thru the clear cartridges which is nice. I have to pay my bills, and enjoy myself to go out for fun - no thank for drinking alcohol or beers for sake. I still use my HP. Knock the woods that the inks are last longer and still working.

I got it replaced. The lady almost didn't saying that she could not replace once it is opened. I showed her the color printouts lines where the pink color doesn't flow out well, and I pointed that I thought it was an ink that had a defect. Then she replaced it with no problem. It's now printing as it should.

There is no expiration date on these inks.

I'm using a Lexmark X3350, no complain so far, it does inform me when my ink is running low or empty. It's just a friendly reminder so people don't pull their hair when ink is actually out. I don't usually replace when I get a warning that it's out, I usually replace WHEN the paper being printed and ink start to fade out...

Oh I see. You are lucky because my HP printer won't print it. Sometimes, I tricked the printer by removing the cartridges and put them back which worked for a while. I had two Epson printers, and it is very similar what you said. I refused to buy the Epson in the future.

By the way, I really like the HP because it can print both sides at once. It is really cool to me. I tried to convince the Epson employees two times at an Expo show (big computer shows). They really don't give a damn about my suggestion. If I see an Epson president there, I will tell him/her to fire these employees that they don't take my recommendation. I am sure the president would have liked my suggestion. So, I'm back off...
