open your Outlook Express.

click on 'FILES' select 'IMPORTS AND EXPORTS'
select"EXPORT TO A FILE" & hit 'NEXT'
select 'Personal Folder File'(.pst) & hit 'NEXT'
select the folder that you want to save like if u want to save 'inbox' emails, select that and type 'inbox.pst' & hit 'NEXT'
you need to know where to put that files; however, if you have cd or dvd burner, you can put the files onto cd before you would format a hdd.

after reinstalling your xp, you can go back Outlook Express to select 'FILES' and select 'IMPORT FROM ANOTHER PROGRAM OR FILES' & hit 'NEXT'
select 'PERSONAL FOLDER FILE (.PST) & hit 'NEXT'
you need to browse the file to cd (if you burn the files to cd or dvd) & hit 'NEXT' that would put all files such as inbox.pst back to outlook.

if you want to save contacts, you can save it as 'CONTACT.PST' and you can put them back as you follow this instruction.

good luck...

You probably want to save your "bookmarks" also. (internet 'favorites').

It is a very similar procedure.

In internet explorer:
File
import and export
export favorites

I do this occasionally just as a backup.

Yup exactly the same as Incredimail. Best clean up deleted and spam email so you can export ur email and addy list. If you don't then it'll be taking long time to export!! But negative side is that Incredimail cannot save background pix and decoration (for Incredimail "letter") that you get from someone else for Incredimail. It sux. You should export addy list and email every now and then so in case if your system go shot then you would lose just a few rather than all. I do that sometime. My old system's power supply was close to go dead (last me 10 min before it shut itself off) and I backed up all email and addy list before it went blink. I built new system and Imported all addy lists and Emails to freshly clean installed XP and Incredimail (I did not ask for it, My wife wanted it.):ty:

Good Luck
