IGN: Back in Black: Elite 360 Confirmed

I can't believe it will come onApril 29. I was not sure if it going to be April's Fool Day. My birthday is on April 28. I want that! I going to tell my mommy!

Sheesh...

Oh well,

It looks really nice. 120 hdd and hdmi. That's great. 120 hdd will sold separately for 179.99. Ouch!

yeah ouch $180 for 120G HDD. I found out I could upgrade my PS3 HDD from 60G to any number, from 120G to 1Tera as long as its a 2 1/2" SATA laptop HDD from Best Buy or Compusa for much cheaper than this. Even Sony includes information on how to upgrade the HDD in the owners manual.

Anyways the Zephyr Elite's nice, but except for the 120G and HDMI, it has basically the same hardware (motherboard, DVD drive and processor). So I'm going to pass on it until M$ does serious hardware revisions like the 65nm chip and a more reliable DVD drive. Besides I want to see how the Zephyr Elites fare in reliability before I plunk down 480 for one. It's 'cause I have gone through 2 360 Premiums with busted DVD drives.

HELL YEAH!!! I will get one but only need check out about how much is money to left then I will trade my Xbox 360 into black Xbox 360 at Gamestop or EBgames...

I hate analog, such as VGA cable and component cable because 1080p is all BS, that BIGGEST BS!!! I rather to play Xbox 360 games on 1080p, even if games support 1080p via HDMI and easier to make automatically into 1080p without mess up my monitor. Fuck to analog cable, no more for me but ouch!!!! I will still use it when I want sleep at hotel or other family's house...

Thanks to MS for not cost us too expensive since $480 is fucking cheaper than PS3, also if trade in then would even more cheaper than we expected...

Only one problem, How I can transfer my information, game saves, gametag, achievement into new hard drive? I don't want start over all again...

I believe M$ will sell a cable to transfer your files, or you can use a memory card...

Either way, I do not need this for a long time. My xbox is still running strong, and 720p is more than sufficent for me.

Good news, HDMI cable will included in package then no need buy HDMI cable.

but... still need buy HDMI to DVI adapter if they have DVI input only on their HDTV or monitor.

now, Sony offer PS3 with 80GB. It's getting ridiculous.

Actually, I remember an interview where someone from Sony mentioned that they would be updating the PS3 every once in a while with a bigger hard drive without having to put the price up. It makes sense because 20GB and 60GB will eventually be difficult to come by within a couple years. They use Seagate hard drives, pretty much the best consumer hard drives available. You can use any SATA 2.5 hard drive and put it into your PS3, let it be 500GB, 750GB or whatever is available and your warranty won't be void. The instructions on removing and adding a hard drive can be found right in the PS3 manual. It's a great thing Sony are giving us the options to upgrade the hard drive on our own without having to pay a fortunate for some first-party hard drives.

$180 (US Dollar) for a lousy 120GB hard drive is a total rip-off. You can get that for much, much less.

Yeah that was what I was talking about in the 2nd post.

I have a feeling with more stuff on xbox Live Marketplace, 120G's worth of HDD space on the Zephyr Elites will fill up pretty quick pissing off a lot of 360 gamers when they run out of space. Then they gotta wait until M$ releases more bigger HDD's due to the unique connector design of the 360's HDD.

Right, 180 dollars for 120GB is stupid. 180 dollars for 500GB is cheaper. I believe that PS3 will dominating over Xbox 360 for few more years. Hopefully!
Because games was not that great! It takes time to develop games.

Wow, I cannot believe that Microsoft is equipping the Xbox Elite with HDMI 1.2 instead of the HDMI 1.3.

HDMI 1.3 is the standard used on this year's models of HDTV sets. Yet Microsoft is using HDMI 1.2?

Amazing how misleading Microsoft can be when it come to their products. It's a slap in the face.

What? Any proof?

Most HDTV with HDMI input are support up to 1.3.

proof is here....

HMDI Output
The Elite supports the HDMI 1.2a specification, as development of the Elite began before the latest 1.3 specification was finalized. One of the design limitations of the Elite is that it will only be able to output Dolby Digital, DTS, WMA Pro, and 2 channel PCM audio via the HDMI connection

Xbox 360 Elite is totally ripped off.

I tested on xbox elite on 1080p on Sony television. It worked! I can see 1080p on display. I am going to sell mine white one. It does not support 1080p on my television.

My daughter want my white one. LOL! I said you have Wii.. She said i like xbox 360 better than Wii. Interesting! She is only 7! I asked her why you like this one better. She said that she liked arcade. She did not like Wii arcade. That's interesting. I thought Wii is better for arcade like Donkey Kong, etc.
