Hi, there.

I wondering about HDMI or DVI don't offer captioning that I ever been heard
about it? I am very tired of waiting for going to my dad's house that have
a HDTV 38 inches of 1080p; and also it have advanced captioning that is
for digital captioning on ATSC. Anyways, I ask you for something:
do you have digital captioning, and this captioning will be work through
by HDMI or DVI connector from it? Thanks! :) If you answered me so
I will praise you about this issue, I will have to wait for that. :)

In 1993, the law was passed for all tv that make after 1993 and size is at 13" or over is require to have CC built-in but FCC would probably remind them to update the law about require to have CC built-in that support digital.

Analog signal will shut down in Feb 2009.

Pacman, it's really off-topic, :nono: you need to know what I am talking about to.

I need to know, do you have a HDTV? If you have HDTV, which you have
a connector for CC through by HDMI, DVI, and other connectors?

I can't wait for analog broadcasts will cease in feb 2009. :naughty:
Good bye to Analog, kiss my @$$ to analog! :bye:

Yes, I did test that thru HDMI and it does not provide closed captioned. I have add component in this dvd player with hdmi. It does provide closed captioned thru component. It disappoint me!

He does not have one yet. He will get one soon. I have HDTV with 3 HDMI.

With HDMI, it does not provide closed captioned. Can use component instead HDMI. Component can go up to 1080i that broadcasts using 720p and 1080i right now. Digital captioned looks good. You can create your own captions. DVI is gone for newer model of HDTVs. They used HDMI instead DVI.

I will not have to worry about HDMI for now. Right now, broadcasts using 1080i thru component. For HDMI, I can use subtitle thru DVD player or Blu-ray player.

I do have a Magnavox 32" HDTV and HDTV is only provided for SDTV inputs (excluding component video input).

To solve my problem, for watching HDTV programming, I have to turn off my HD set-top-box, enable analog/digital closed caption, and turn on my Comcast HD set-top-box for watching HDTV with closed captions.

I have no problem with Comcast HD box. CCfan want to know about HDMI.

This is very interesting about the HDTV. I do not have it. I do not need it.

My wife was in your shoes but when I got HDTV. My wife was saying why need it?

When I change channel on CBS HD. My wife love it and it amaze her. She can tell why it is great than SDTV. Widescreen and incredible picture. She realized that worth it.

About the HDMI, my HDTV doesn't have it since I bought it last year. It only comes with NTSC and ATSC tuner isn't built-in. I got it for $730 for Circuit City, which I made payments with my mom.

then report to FCC.

If HDMI support SDH then use it, also some cable companies are rather to add SDH in HD tuner box instead of CC.

I have no idea since I don't have anything that supports hdmi, but my 32" LCD HDTV does have HDMI port though.
