I created new thread and want know about problem with current-gen gaming consoles including Xbox, PS2, Gamecube and Dreamcast. I would interesting to know about it.

PS2
-Older model is getting more reading error, it does happen to me in last month ago.
-Lacking of games that playable online gaming and seems went died.
-Not powerful as Xbox does, even not support HDTV, unlike Xbox does.

Xbox
-None of problem are found on Xbox.

Gamecube
-Just problem like PS2 does due lacking of playable online gaming.
-Not powerful as Xbox and PS2 does and doesn't support DVD.
-Gamecube Disc isn't good and limited GB compared to GD-ROM for Dreamcast.

Dreamcast
-Short life due major competition with PS2.
-No DVD support
-Many games have crappy graphic compared to PS2, Gamecube and Xbox.
-Sega is doing too rush to make Dreamcast to release in 1998 in Japan and 1999 in USA.

The xbox lacks a better gaming library that GCN/PS2 have, also the ps2's analog sticks wear out faster than most, after about 100-200 hours of game play they get a little loose and the games that use the r2 to rotate the camera around are extremely sensitive in some games and it pans around without you even touching the analog sticks which make it annoying. The first few releases of xbox had power cord issues that would burn out. Ironically the 360 seems to share this (most of the first-batch launches break in some way. I was told the problems have been fixed now.)

I personally find PS2 to be the epitone of consoles for current-gen.

Xbox? lack better games library? PLEASE. We all know which console has the most trouble with the game library and it's obviously gamecube. it lacks third party support and most third party support games goes to PS2 and Xbox while GC gets less third party support and doesnt have that many games as PS2 and Xbox do. If you check the history on gamecube, I'm sure you'll understand.

Yea, It does happen to N64 too but Nintendo already discontinued N64 in around in 5 years (1996-2001) compared to 7 years for SNES (1991-1998) and 10 years for NES (1985-1995). I wouldn't surprise if Nintendo would discontinue Gamecube after Wii release.

NES is one of highest sold and lifespan is longer than most system.

I have no problem with Xbox but little lacking of games, and same with PS2.

That may be true but it's really a difference in opinion of what genres you like playing that would decide which console has a 'limited library'.

Bottom line-

PS2- Best selection of all genres exluding fps. The best probably being rpgs.
GCN- IMO it's the best console to play RE4 on. It's the top-of-the-line for platformers/action.
Xbox- Best console for fps games hands-down.

Keep in mind I really wouldn't know much about GCN or xbox because I don't play it, although it's an assumption based on the information I get from friends and other sources. If you want to enlighten me or correct me feel free. My forte is PS2.

for my opinion,

playstation 2 is best games library and it had been there before xbox releases.

Right now, xbox 360 is looking good so far for more library right now.

Will see about PS3 and Wii in few more years.

Right now, PS2 is number one, xbox 2nd, gamecube 3rd.

my opinion is that game cube and xbox has the less library but in fact its all about what type of genere you re looking for like if you want an console have has the most rpgs go for ps2 and the slimmer ps2 has less disc read error problems i had an ps2 for quite a while now and beaten every rpg on market i m proud to say lol anyhoo lets get to the point shall we? if you want an console that has the most actions or sports or racing go for xbox or xbox 360 and if you want the console that are fit for your kids go for gamecube that s what i plan to with my step kids i m going to get them an good console that have less voilent and language on it but not as gay as animal crossing but good like metroid prime or the mario games anyway generally for the library ps2 have the most of the library from what i have seen in gamespot stores i noticed alot of ps2 games re sold out and there s plenty of left overs for xbox and gamecube its true that ps2 is not as powerful as xbox but gotta admit that ps2 really does rules the market that part is an fact whetheither you like it or not if you deny it then you re in denial the proofs re in markets personally i like ps2 games they has more options to choose from whilst xbox has no rpgs in an traditional sense gamecube has some but not as much for oen like finalfantasy series they re keeping on an sony s ass and keeping on kissing it man i think i over inputed my feedback lol oh about dreamcast they suck plain and simple besides they werent in an ps2 gen they were in an n64 ps1 gen i remember because i m not that young
