It looks like:

Google is always changing their front page during events or holidays! Just make sure you take a peek at Google on a holiday, you won't be disappointed!

I think they're gonna do a new one every day. I missed one already... grr! Here's what I've seen so far:

August 15th

August 16th

August 17th

August 18th

August 19th

I think these are in the correct order?

We could be looking at a new one for tomorrow... August the 20th!

Yeah, I've noticed that for a few months -- they do change accordingly to either a holiday or special day.

I don't think it's automatic based on dates. I just tried changing the date of my computer and it still stays the same. I think it's someone who's adding them manually.

I saw the gold medal final of the table tennis men's -- China va Korea -- it was both funny and fascinating to watch.

China nearly made it, but Korea won.

Google has done this for YEARS -- their web designers change the front page graphic all the time, on Thanksgiving Day, Christmas, 4th of July, Boxing Day, anytime they want to. It's not automatic or based on your computer's date/time, it's just how cool and creative Google's website is.
