Hmmm missing icons and taskbar

I was use my sister's computer till something went wrong! hmm .. Before I was jsut cleaning up in Temporary Internet Files and it went show up on the screen to ask me something words said but cant remember someting said " System" to install something and ask me do you want to restart " yes or no" so I clicked no but it keep show up so I keep said no no till it went very slow and then I turn off the computer wait for a few mins then come back and hmmmmmm :shock: :shock: :shock: just wallpaper like screensaver that is all no icons on desktop and taskbar and also the taskbar too and it wont show up on the screen ? Because I just clean up in the computer and it went werid . Any of you know why ?? or it does to you before????

I was wondering why no icons and no taskbar just wallpaper like at night time you can see the sky of stars in the sky that my sister have in her wallpaper that is all I see werid no icons and taskbar hmm I tried to look up in the interent about it yikes!!

I took my computer back and it works!! to use interent no ip address blocked me whew!!! but still why on my sister's comptuer that have no icons and no taskbar just screensaver picture that is all hmmmmm. :dunno: :dunno:

I talked to my mom as I hope so not she get mad at me cause I just borrowing my sister's computer and she said if I screw up my sister's computer and then I have to pay for it but I hope so not. yikes I cross my fingers :( that I left a msgs on my mom's msn :( I am disppointed with it from my sister's computer went wrong and I hope so not to pay for it to fix. :)

Maybe it is me or it is computer or it is my 2nd sister that she did changed in my youngest sister's computer I have no idea so will see what my mom said.

Go to Start->run-> %SystemRoot%\system32\restore\rstrui.exe (use copy/paste)

-Go to Restore my computer to an earlier time
-Pick 2-3 months ago.


Let it restore your computer then reboot.

Sorry there is no " start " button that I dont see where it is and just only wallpaper

Use your keyboard to "Ctrl+Alt+del"

GO to "new task..." then put "%SystemRoot%\system32\restore\rstrui.exe" then click ok.

OKay I will try that when I get home from my mom's home cause I am staying at my mom's home which have cool place :).. my home is really very hot up there cause of I live on the attic it is so hot there. that it got me sweating that I really hate it lol :lol:

I wonder if can you help me little bit...

I have problem w/Firefox... when I browsing.. itself went stop and freezing for no reason.. I tries to scroll down but screen kept freezing.. mouse is much alive moving.. Strange odd... Just I had install upgrade firefox last wk.. went nuts and worst..
I have no idea why it caused it. I tries to typing but freezing for few seconds then wait wait load.... finally came it back on working...

What wrong?

I am not exactly sure what's happen with ur computer. Try use Add or Remove programs from Control Panel to removed firefox. Then full install from http://www.mozilla.com/firefox/


How much RAM you have?
How much free space from hdd?

There is nothing wrong with IE7.... :thumb:

Plenty plenty ram... 512
Spaces... pretty awful lot free spaces..

Um, I doesn't want lose my bookmarked.. where should save this bookmarked url... then remove firefox..
I want saved my bookmark and also hate start over again find website and addy bookmark again! sick of it.

You may need to purhcase another 512MB memory card. Both would run fasters than one......

Nothing to wrong with your ram and hdd. When last time you defrag your hdd?

Are you sure you have memory free enough?

You dont need to start over again to find website.

Firefox->Bookmarks->Bookmarks Manager->File->Export bookmark file-> SAVE

That's where u can save ur boommark file.

I have uninstall firefox and install fresh one before, they dont lose your bookmark

I tried that but it says "System Restore has been turned off by group policy. To turn on System Restore, contact your domain Administrator." What hell does it meant by that? I am the owner of the computer itself but after i took it to computer shop for restart and cleaned the virus and etc that i couldn't started it up when it crashed down after i made huge mistake to deleted the informations in the control panel in about a year and half ago. Now i cannot restore the system any more cuz the computer shop did that without my knowledge! GRRRRRRRRRRRRRR :mad2: Can you help me with system restore back on so i can control it myself... And i have learned my lesson from it.... :Oops:

No, that is not true, at my work our IT department forbid us from installing IE v7 due to security bugs! We are not allowed to install these on our workstation at all.

Sure it could make your PC run little faster, not always work that way. 512MB will NOT solve several problems that PC may have, sometimes they make the situation worse.

Other day I was update my window xp and it said need to install a new IE window. I said okay. After the installed then restart my laptop. I wanted to test the IE browser. I see it and HATE IT. Its so confused and didnt like the style of IE 7. I wanted my old IE back. I dont know what to do. In a few mins later, I realized I CAN get my old IE back. I had to system restore few days back. So I did and got my old IE back. I thanked god for that.

Why they changed the style of IE 7 for?? I want the same one like the old one.
 
Well, Internet Explorer is crap. I highly recommended ya to get Firefox. :D
