Transliteration

The profession of transliteration requires a certain skill set, beyond the ability to cue fluently. Consequently, training opportunities and evaluation tools are essential for transliterators at every level in order to ensure that their consumers are receiving the services of a qualified professional.

At the present time, the number of qualified Cued Speech transliterators nationally is in critically short supply. To address this need, the NCSA utilizes formal Requests For Proposals (RFPs) to solicit grant applications for both transliterator training and transliterator evaluation. Proposals are reviewed twice annually by the RFP Review Committee on the basis of their relevance, technical merit, and promise.

How to Apply
Copies of the RFPs can be obtained from Cued Speech Discovery or downloaded by clicking below:

For current deadlines or specific questions about the application process, contact the RFP Committee chair.

Send completed proposals to the NCSA Secretary.
