How do I convert the dialogue to be more ASL
Someone bumps into me, interrupting my thoughts.
Their face wears a pleading expression. “I'm sorry! I wasn't paying attention. My bad.”
A guy with creamy brown, oval eyes. He has short, choppy, black hair and beige skin. His gentle, apologetic smile cools me down before my blood can boil.
When I sign to him that it's okay he returns a confused expression on his face.
Right, I forgot that not everybody knows sign language.
I pull out my phone and type “Thank you” in a text message to myself and show him. He does the same thing, typing “My name is Haru.”
“I'm Maya.”
