Hi! My daughter was born with grade 3 right side Microtia/atresia. She just turned to and in our opinion is thriving! Our doctor keeps pushing us to get a BAHA on a soft band for her but we keep getting denials from the insurance and it’s a bit steep for us to pay out of pocket. Anyone have any recommendations or places to maybe buy used?

BAHA is awesome, but yes it's expensive and not always covered by insurance. I would get her evaluated at a deaf school just to make sure she IS thriving......Sign may be useful as a second language. Aiding unilatertal loss is still kind of new....in fact until recently it wasn't that unusual for kids with unilatral losses to go unaided. If she IS thriving, I wouldn't worry too much. The jury is still out there on whether or not aiding unilateral losses makes an enournmous difference. When she's old enough for school, maybe trial an FM. Basicly look into everything.
