Learning about Oralism and Manualism

Hi, I am a student at Xavier University in Cincinnati, OH learning ASL. Part of my class is a research paper about manualism and oralism. I am trying to get some first-hand accounts so if anyone has the time, I would greatly appreciate learning about the following questions:

1. Did you attend a deaf school or a public heating school? In your education did you primarily use ASL, oralism, or a combination?
2. Was there a situation or specific memory where you were discriminated against for signing and/or told to lipread and speak?
3. If you were to guess on average how many deaf people prefer to lip-read and speak rather than sign?
4. Do you know any fun or interesting facts on either the topic of oralism or manualism?
