How to sign "made me"

Hey all,
I've been wondering for some time now how to sign "made" in the sense of "force" or "initiate". ie: "she made me do it" or "the movie made me upset" My thought is with the second one "Movie-me-upset" but I'm not sure about the first. Silly question I know, but it's driving me nuts!

Two different concepts if someone made you do something that's "she force me." If a movie CAUSED you to be upset, you might sign "movie cause me upset." Make would only be the sign I'd use in PSE or when being lazy. (So, often.)

Generally, if really trying not to be PSE, I end up changing the phrasing away from English. I might end up saying: "Past I watch movie. It upset me."

Although even though I was told in my ITP not to sign "MAKE ME LAUGH," that's pretty much how I've only ever seen it signed.
