hearing aids vs none?

my friend and i are both late deafened and hoh. She has a moderate- profound loss and i have a mild-moderate loss, if she has hearing aids and i dont does she have the advantage, or do i? She also lipreads better than i do...
 
her..... but to be honest, h/a's will help you with face to face communications.
 
Generally speaking all things being equal, anybody aided with have the advantage by simply being able to hear more which may include speech comprehension. So, this means your friend has the advantage. Her lip-reading skills ought to be better as she relies on it more than you but it is not always the case.
